Geax AKA Tire - 27.5in -

Small, tightly spaced knobs are a favorite for mountain bikers. This is especially true where the balance of traction and rolling resistance tends to favor the earlier. Along these lines, Geax's AKA TNT 27.5in Folding tire is designed to penetrate the ground without slowing your momentum. So, you'll ride with a confidence inspiring that doesn't compromise your speed.

The directional, well-spaced, and small-block tread pattern provides an exceptional grip on adverse terrain like gravel and sand, yet it still provides a predictable cornering characteristic when conditions are beyond moist. Furthering this principle, the Geax AKA TNT uses Geax's simple-to-use Tubes No Tubes technology. Not simply an add-sealant cookie-cutter design, Tubes No Tubes incorporates a 120TPI nylon casing that creates a compliant, traction-enhancing ride that drops significant weight off of standard, stiff, and thick tubeless designs. In order to minimize, if not eliminate, flats, the TNT casing also features an additional nylon layer that's been impregnated with abrasion resistant rubber along the sidewall.

This system assists in the avoidance of rim impacts, which drastically lowers the risk of the resulting pinch flat. Additionally, it also ensures a heightened level of direct steering, braking, and acceleration inputs. Adding to that picture is Geax's Tubeless Talon interface that fits both standard and tubeless rims. But, the biggest advantage for the Tubeless Talon design is in its bead technology. Essentially, it locks into the rim flange in order to prevent rotation under hard breaking, along with preventing the tire from burping.

The Geax AKA TNT 27.5in Folding Tire is available in the color Black and in a 2.2 inch width. Please note that when you install the tire, the Tubeless Talon bead will firmly lock onto rim edge. This means that you're able to perform the inflation with a standard pump.

Tightly-spaced, small-block patterns are a favorite for hard-packed conditions where speed is favored over traction. But, those tires sacrifice quite a bit when the trail is either loamy or loose. The Geax AKA 27.5in Tire, however, builds on that shallow, tightly packed philosophy in order to provide strength where other designs fail.

For one, it's a directional tire with ramps reinforcing the shallow knobs to enhance an already inherent resistance to flex. Secondly, the knobs are not square. They have a wider leading edge and narrower trailing edge. This complements the directional pattern, but more importantly, it provides more surface area for aggressive traction when braking in loose soil. For the side knobs, Geax resorted to a similar profile of the widely spaced Gato, but packed them closer together in order to ensure steering precision. This contributes to efficient climbing as well. Accordingly, the AKA is considered as a multi-condition weapon in everything short of sloppy mud.

The Geax AKA 27.5in Tire is available in a 2.2-inch width and in two casing options. First, you have a choice of TNT (Tube, no tube) for compatibility with tubeless rims with use of a sealant, and secondly, there's a folding 120tpi casing for use with tubes.
