Genova Boji Water Softener -

Softens your water supply, yielding water that tastes fresher, is less corrosive to onboard plumbing and leaves fewer unsightly stains and water spots. Consists of a PVC cylinder containing a special Ion Exchange Resin that attracts hard substances in water (iron, calcium, etc.) and removes them as the water passes through. No moving parts. Installed in-line.

Complete kit includes the Boji Softener, a prefilter housing with activated carbon filter, 36" hose to connect Boji to prefilter, 3/4" hose fittings to plumb into water supply and molded integral feet. Provides a lifetime of use, but must be "regenerated" periodically using water softener salt cubes (available at hardware and home supply stores).

Two sizes: Standard, which softens up to 2,000 gallons, and High-Capacity, which softens up to 5,000 gallons prior to regeneration (actual amount of water softened depends upon "hardness" of water).

As advertised.

Product works great and is as advertised. Only suggestion being slightly longer hoses for added flexibility with mounting locations. I would like to hang the filter unit along the back of my slip. NOTE: dissolving the salt to condition the softener requires the filter unit to be vertical for proper flow. Otherwise, the salt will take much longer to dissolve and condition the unit.

I'm impressed

I was going to wait to review it, but I forgot. Its now been 3 years and it has performed perfectly. I am a full time RVer and use it every day. Every 3-4 weeks I recharge it and the water is always soft. I was a little skeptical when I bought it but am thoroughly satisfied the longer I use it.

Nice product

I have had for over a year now, nice product, while not completely "spotless" it does reduce about 75 - 80% of water spotting. Easy to use and clean/flush. Use to wash down as well as fill tanks, so fewer spots in boat showers and sinks too. Standard unit is small enough to lay in a dock box for storage (nice).

spotless viking

excellent product. Could use some beefing up in housing but water supply and performance are great. I have a new 62 Viking sf and it makes maintaining much easier.

Negative Reviews:

Good Concept, But.......

The concept is great but be careful and handle gently especially around the hose connections. It's made of PVC or plastic of some kind and the connections will break off the unit easily if not handled real gently. The connection broke on my unit and the break is in an area I can not repair and maintain being watertight. Too bad too since I liked the concept and simplicity of the unit. Just a bit too cheaply made which made the unit unusable. Very expensive unit for weak PVC piping.
