Most of the time you will only need your knife to spread cream cheese on your bagel. However, in case of a rescue situation where you need quick access to a knife, this knife is easy to pull from the sheath and comfortable to grip in a wet & cold environment. This mid-sized knife is a favorite among commercial river guides. Molded friction release sheaths clip to a belt or the lash tab on your PFD. The River Runnerâ„¢ incorporates a half smooth, half serrated blade and a pointy tip for puncturing a broached boat.

The Gerber River Runner knife is designed for the unique requirements of rafting, paddling and diving.

Great knife | |

| I have owned the Gerber blunt end knife for more than ten years and worn it on dozens and dozens of rafting trips without any problem whatsoever. Some don't like the way it attaches to the lifejacket or that it doesn't "lock" into the case but I've flipped, swam, jumped off high rocks and transported the lifejacket and knife all over the place without a problem. I have, however, heard numerous people complain that they lost their knives after a flip or a jump. I am purchasing this knife because I just gave mine to my son. | |

Good wet condition knife, but... | |

| Great knife: light, compact, quick draw but it will not hold an edge. It is advertised as "medium carbon steel" which I guess should have been a warning. Sharpen it to a fine edge, let it set a couple of weeks in the tool kit and you will not be able to cut paper without ripping it. | |
