Lives up to billing

While providing me the needed protection for my hands with sailing tasks like raising sails with the halyard, the gloves also enabled me to use my thumb and forefinger to easily tie knots. One added value was that after several uses they do not smell foul like other brands that I've used often do.

Negative Reviews:

Defective Leather

I used these gloves just through two months of Wednesday racing and light use. Both gloves tore open in the thumb area. I have been sailing 29 years and had many gloves just wear out through the fingers or seems; however, I have never seen a pair of glove tear through the leather in a none friction area.

Let's hope that Gill lives up to their Gill Guarantee.

short life

They wore out very quickly between the palm and the wristband as well as the tip of the middle finger.

comfortable but bad design

Both gloves wore thru between palm leather and wrist band within days.
