Go Industries The Rancher Black Powder-Coat Grille Guard Reviews:

Pig Buster

I installed this grill guard when I bought my truck new in 2007. I have always liked the way it looked and have had no complaints with how it has held up over the last six years. To start off the lucky 2013 year, I finally got to find out it was more than just good looking as I hit a pig on I130 at 85 miles an hour. I hunt pigs regularly, the correct way, and would estimate the one I hit at about 250 pounds. Although the impact bent the guard and mounts severly, the truck sustained only minimal damage and I was able to drive safely the rest of the way to my home. I was happy to find that the guard is still available, as I will be replacing the guard with a new one. The pig was not so lucky.

Well built poor finish

As the title states. The craftsman that built and welded the unit together were done no justice by the people that finished the guard with the black powdercoat. There are areas where there was no powder coat even aplied to the steel. It rusted and showed all imperfections the first time it rained on it. As usuall cabela's customer service stepped up and offered to return the product for a new one or talk to the manufac. for me. After some pictures were emailed I decided to let the manufac. pay me directly to have the guard eithere repainted or poweder coated. I chose to have it repainted jet black and keep some touch up paint in the truck for it. All for all I would say that the guard is strong, well built, but poorly finished.
