Positive Reviews:

This shoe feels very light on the upper portion, and feels sturdy and solid on the sole. The ankle area of the shoe feels small, while the front half of the shoe feels bulkier. It gives you a strange feeling. Usually a shoe feels bulky all over or light all over. This shoe feels like the proportions of the front of the shoe and the back of the shoe don't match. Even visually, the shoe starts really narrow at the ankle and gets much wider and bulkier starting at mid point and towards the front end of the shoe. The lateral support at the ankle area of the shoe is almost completely absent. This ankle area feel like you are wearing water shoes. This lacks support and it is thin. The pluses are that the shoe is light and extremely soft. The cushion on the sole makes it feel like you are walking on clouds. It is that soft. I bought the brown/grapeleaf color. It is an attractive color combination of black and dark brown. When I wore them with light color jeans they seemed too dark and too contrasting. They looked much better with darker tone jeans. I tried them with shorts and the shoes make your foot look small. I have not tried the performance of these shoes during a trail hike yet. I wanted to wear them more as comfortable walking shoes. And they are, extremely comfortable, but they don't look as good on, as I thought they were going to look. It was not a "perfect" purchase for me. But I am impressed with the comfort.

I was searching for an 'urban hiking' shoe to replace a well used pair of Merrell that I could pass off as casual/professional while maintaining the support and balance of walking/hiking shoes in the heat of a long urban European summer. While I have only had them for a short time, I am already impressed with the molding to my foot fit, comfort, style, and support. Looking forward to the heat and walking tests, but so far they have been great. I am so glad I took a chance on these GoLite XT80s.

The fact that you can adjust the width makes this a versatile shoe. The shoes is very comfortable and the grip of the outsole is amazing.

These are beautiful shoes and very well made. I cannot wear them because the inner tongue is completely attached to the shoe. Bad design!
