Very Chic Jacket

Rating:*****
I bought this jacket for, moderately cold, Spring Skiing in Colorado. I thought the jacket was a dark tan but, a previous review that I read mentioned that there is a "lime" color to the jacket. I am SO glad that I read that or I would have been surprised when I received the jacket. It does, very much, have a lime color to the jacket but it is amazing how many colors this jackets blends well with! I kept the jacket. It looks awesome with slim black ski pants on the slopes and is perfect for Spring skiing in 30+ degree weather on the mountain. I am back in Texas now though and wore the jacket today with a yellow-gold top and jeans to baseball game. It was very windy and chilly today. The jacket was PERFECT! No wind penetration whatsoever! (everyone else was wrapped in blankets!) Plus, I had several compliments on the jacket as well. It is form fitting and very figure flattering as well. I am very pleased with my purchase and the color makes the jacket a little bit more unique! Go for it! It is very classy look. I love it. I also wore it to church today with slacks and heels. (Very versatile)

Well made and very warm

Rating:*****
This is the second one of these that I have purchased. My mother was out visiting from the east coast and loved this jacket -- amazing since we couldn't be more different! So I bought it for her for Christmas. What an incredible relief to have something that I know she will like this year!! The jacket is very warm, extremely well made with attention to detail, and very nice looking. We have the purple, which is very pretty. That said, the sizing does seem off. I normally wear a small, and a medium is just about right, but definitely couldn't get any smaller. The jacket is also longer than I normally wear, but since it is close-fitting, it doesn't hang and seem too long.

great jacket

Rating:****
the only thing about this jacket is the zippers are very small and it's difficult to unzip the pit zips while in the middle of an activity..for example: running. the angle of the unzip is odd..but that is a drawback that i don't see as a big problem for me. the jacket has kept me warm in cold temps, and fits wonderfully. i haven't been in the rain or snow wearing it yet, but the windproofness has already proven to be a winner. I've been running in this jacket and imagine it's going to be great for xcountry skiing this winter..even when its snowing! i love the form fit design..and it's length is perfect..which seems to be hard to find.

Great All Weather Jacket

Rating:****
I use this coat for biking to/from work in Chicago and it has been fantastic! I adjust my base layer according to the temperature, but this coat has been a perfect shell even when the weather dipped down into the low 20's. Based on some of the other descriptions, the pit zips would be hard to open while biking since they are under my backpack straps. The fit is a little different, but not so awkward that it impedes its purpose. There is more room in the chest area than down at the waist/butt, however this is perfect for my use when biking. I would highly recommend this coat. The absinthe color is represented well by the photo.

warm but breathable

Rating:*****
I bought this to wear while cross-country skiing. I'm always cold, so I wanted a soft shell with the fuzzy lining, but breathability for when I really get moving. This jacket is phenomenal! It's kept me warm while skiing but vents easily when the sweat starts and breathes well even if I don't open the shoulder/pit vents. I was worried that the L size would be too small to layer under, as sometimes "performance wear" sizes run small. As a tall, large-chested woman, I can quite comfortably wear two layers underneath and still be mobile. Everything I was hoping for- and a great price! GoLite is a great brand.

great jacket

Rating:****
I just got this, so I haven't used it much yet. But, the material feels bomber and I love the purple color. The fit is trim, but that seems appropriate - there is enough room to layer a light fleece underneath and I wasn't looking for a "big" shell. I'm 5'9" and the length (size L) is long enough to bike in and the arms are just the right length. My only dislike is that the collar is a bit big, seems like wind may get in, but it allows you to tuck your chin in for warmth. Overall, I am very satisfied so far.

does the job

Rating:****
There are zippers to no where in the collar bone area. I am assuming for ventilation? I think a zippered mesh gusset under the armpit would have been a better location. The neck is a bit bulky could be a tighter more streamlined fit and the whole jacket a bit stiff think very lightweight neoprene but that is to be expected with true waterproofing. Lovely taped seam treatment inside. Works fantastic no rain or wind gets in if the weird zippers are shut. You need layers underneath to keep warm. Plenty long to cover your butt while riding a bike.

Very well made

Rating:****
The cut, color, fabric and construction of the jacket is awesome. I wore it for the first time hanging at a party in the rain and was totally dry. Haven't tried working up a sweat in it yet. Only issues are the sleeves are a bit short and there are no armpit vents, though it does have odd opening zippers between the collar bone and chest. Overall it is super cute and well made, thought about returning it because of the few issues but after a few hours of trying it out loved it and kept it.

Warm, attractive, perfect

Rating:*****
This is a very nice jacket. i got a medium because other reviews said it was a very close cut, and I'm glad I did. It's a perfect fit -- and I would normally wear a small. There's enough room for a shirt underneath, but not really any more layers. The only drawback is that it is very long. The sleeves are fine, but I would have liked the overall length to be about 2 inches shorter. Still, this is a very nicely constructed, warm, comfortable, and attractive jacket. Glad I got it.

Perfect Softshell

Rating:*****
I am size 10/medium 5'6 and lean. I ordered a large size based on previous reviews. The large jacket fits perfectly. The sleeves are a bit long as you would expect with a technical softshell, but the velco closures work well. The jacket is close fitted but I can comfortably layer a light vest or mid-layer. Side pockets are excellent. The pit zips seem odd and I won't use them, but they do not interfere. Inside pockets are nicely designed. I have the purple color and love it!

Negative Reviews:

great fabric, terrible zipper

Rating:**
Great fabric, but so hard to zip. Also would never use the pit zips because they are on upper chest instead of under arms pits and would not work at all in rainy or snowy conditions because they expose underlayment. They'd only be OK when dry outside. And would be underneath straps of backpack. Fabric seems fine. Have not worn it in really cold conditions yet but imagine it is warm enough for aerobic pursuits. I am going to use it for winter sea kayaking over full wetsuit and maybe up at Lake Placid this coming weekend.

Nothing special

Rating:*
I was looking forward to using this jacket for winter activities. The pit zips are horzontal (point of breast to shoulder blade) as opposed to vertical. Neither comfortable nor easily accessible. In addition the jacket seemed cheaply made with a poor finish on the inside - big bulky seams.

Nice Jacket but too narrow at the hips

Rating:**
I wear a 12 and this jacket was fine in through the sholders and sleeves but too tight over the top of my hips. I couldn't have worn a larger size and have it fit through the sholders. I returned it.

Skip this jacket

Rating:*
The color was pretty weird, kind of a baby poo yellow/brown/green! The collar was way way too stiff making the jacket pretty uncomfortable. I returned it and am waiting on a similar product made by another company.

Sizing is way off

Rating:*
Sizing is way off, way too small. A waste of time to order it.

Nice color purple

It was a shaped different. The chest area was really big boxy.

Nice coat

Rating:***
I wanted a waterproof soft shell, so I bought this jacket. It's not as warm as I expected and when I wear a fleece under it, it's a little constricting. I'm almost 5'4 and 120 lbs and have a kind of short torso. The jacket hits me at the bottom of my hip joint, right where you bend over from the hips, so it's kind of long, as are the sleeves (although I don't really mind). I got the absinthe color (why is it called that?) and it's limier than I expected, which is nice. I like this jacket but I don't love it. Can imagine better fit, more warmth, etc.

strange fit

Rating:***
Everything about this product is wonderful other than the fit. I am a woman of average build (5'5", 135lbs,) and the shoulders seem narrow, chest large, and sleeves short. I bought a size medium to facilitate layering. I like the slightly longer length. Overall, the jacket keeps the wind and water out, has good ventilation, and seems durable. I would not recommend this jacket for someone who has longer arms or wider shoulders.

Golite jacket

Rating:***
I ordered a large and it fit great around the hips but somewhat large in the shoulders and chest. I normally wear a medium. The jacket is very wind resistant but not that warm. Even though it is lined with some sort of microfleece thin layer you still need something warm under it. I love the purple color and it is very light. I use it to do my morning walk.

Excellent jacket but NOT waterproof

Rating:***
I needed a jacket to keep me dry in light to moderate rains. This is a beautiful jacket and functional as a wind layer for active outdoor pursuits. However, I had it out in a moderate rain and had to cut my activity short as water began to soak into the fabric. I chose to return the jacket in exchange for something more waterproof.

Wish it had a hood

Rating:***
I wanted a Jacket that I could use ice climbing and mountaineering. It is just a little too cold for this purpose, but it does ventilate well. I love that the arms are long enough and I can wear an insulation layer underneath. I ordered a medium and I am 5'8" 140lbs. Too bad it doesn't have a hood.

Strange Fit

Rating:***
I disregrded the reviews thinking that since I have large shoulders (swimmer) the cut might work for me. I was wrong. The jacket is cut to fit a person who is built like a body buider, not the weekend warrior body builder, but full time lifter type.

Limited Use

Rating:***
Although this jacket is stylish, I find it limiting because of the high neck and the tight fit which will limit what I can wear under it.

Weird shoulders

Rating:***
The purple jacket was beautifully made, but the zip open vents on the shoulders/chest fit strange, so I returned it.
