Men's Clothing > Jackets & VestsRated: ***** by 5 reviews.

Backcountry.com Outlet

The Men’s Wisp Wind Shirt is the lightest shell you can get from GoLite—that’s saying a lot coming from a company that cuts weight from everything. A combination of recycled and anti-static DWR-coated polyester fabric blocks howling wind a light rain, so you won’t suffer in unexpected weather. At 3.2 ounces, this jacket easily makes the cut for any hiking, backpacking, biking, or trail running trip.

Not too shabby

Rating:*****

The GoLite Wisp shirt is a great layer for a windy day. It's so light and I love the bright colors. The fabric has a bit of shine to it - really eye-catching. The material is not stretchy or clingy, just light and airy. It has a drawcord at the waist and elastic at the sleeves to keep wind out. No drawcord at the neck, which is cut roomy. That's nice if you are wearing multiple zip-up layers that all bulk up at the neck. This shirt definitely won't choke you, even if you're wearing a pack. It is wind and rain resistant but not windproof nor rainproof, so I wouldn't have it as my only outer layer on an outdoor trip where there is a risk of hypothermia if I'm wet. One caution: grease stains really show on this fabric and are impossible to remove. The only con is that the fabric is so light that the collar isn't heavy enough to lay flat when the zipper is open.

amazingly light

I was looking for a light windjacket that I could use when riding my bike to work in the mornings, but that would compress down small for the afternoon rides home when it's warmer. This jacket has exceeded all my expectations. I have not had a chance to try it in the rain yet, but for blocking wind, it is perfect. I wish I would have bought it sooner.

A GOOD BUY

I've been wearing this mainly for the drizzly San Francisco summer bike commute at this point. It's been great repelling the light moisture, keeping me just warm enough on the ride in. Trips home it's breaking the evening wind nicely. Compresses fist sized. Amazing! Seems well made with good stiching and strong fabric. I hope to get many years out of it.

Terrific product

Rating:*****
Absurdly lightweight, looks like paper but is surprisingly strong. Not completely waterproof, but then again it isn't advertised to be. Overall a great product.
