Gore developed its Fusion Cosmo SO Jacket for those cold, windy, and wet trail riding sessions, where staying comfortable depends largely on what's covering your core. The jacket was made with the tried-and-proven WindStopper material, which provides a stretchy element-blocking layer that perfectly mimics your on-the-bike position.
The Fusion Cosmo SO Jacket was constructed using WindStopper Soft Shell fabric. This is essentially a fleece-lined, membrane-backed stretchy material that moves with you while riding. The characteristics of this fabric are ideal for exercising in cool and cold weather, as Soft Shell provides a light, flexible layer of insulation, yet also blocks the wind and rain with its inner membrane. WindStopper provides the comfort of a mid-layer and the water resistance of a shell in one. Additionally, this material's composition also breathes incredibly well, which allows moisture to escape from within, rather than collecting inside and chilling your body like other membrane layers. This means that your body remains warm, dry, and comfortable during all of your rides.
Due to the effectiveness of the WindStopper membrane, the folks at Gore included some front mesh zippered inserts for ventilation. A snap-insert on the tall, fleece-lined collar was added for easy, one-handed opening, and two zippered pockets line the front, with a third on the back panel. There's also a zippered Napoleon pocket on the left breast and small cloth for cleaning your eyewear. The tail is cut a tad longer to accommodate your position on the bike, and the lower hem and sleeve cuffs are bound with a simple and comfortable Lycra band. Reflective elements throughout the jacket help keep you visible to motorists in low-light situations.
The Gore Bike Wear Fusion Cosmo SO Jacket is available in sizes Small to XX-Large and in the colors Black/graphite grey and Varsity Green/neon yellow.
