Great 2-person kit
I wanted a lightweight, complete kitchen set for 2 and this is everything I hoped it would be. Easy to clean, pot is a great size & heats evenly. Both the cups and bowls are lightweight plastic, but seem to hold hot liquids well, I've used them to rehydrate food just adding very hot water. Insulating sleeve on the cup keeps hands comfy. I thought I would ditch the sipping lids, but they actually work very well, easy to use and keep the trail dirt out of your drink. And you can actually store a lightweight stove and fuel canister inside the set, making it a complete kitchen setup in a lightweight, very packable size. Besides the actual stove & fuel, you do not need anything else to cook a hot meal with this kit, it even comes with a soft case so you can pack the stove without scratching your pot. Could not imagine a set I would have been happier with for two people.
Purchased this for my wife and I to take on longer hikes. I have a the minimalist for myself but with her I wanted a bit more. The set was perfect for drinking coffee in the morning and heating up water was a breeze. Very compact for what you pull out of the pot and have no complaints about it.
EXCEPT!!! I have 3 sets of the spoons and the glue they put on the sticker is nothing but stupid. Plan to take time to clean the spoons and mine still have sticky stuff on them even after months of use. Very annoying!
Nice little compact cook set. Heats water, cooks food. Holds hot drinks without burning your hand. What more do you need? Enough stuff for two people but still light enough for just one. You can fit a small gas tank inside the cups for space savings along with a small stove and matches. Cooked some breakfast sausages in the pot which burned a little, but it was easy enough to clean out at home. Overall, I'm very happy I chose this set.
GSI Outdoors Halulite Microdualist Two-P
We for the first time flew somewhere to camp, so had to minimalize our gear for space and weight purposes. The GSI Outdoors Halulite Microdualist and Snow Peak Giga Power Manual Stove worked perfectly for travel and at the campsite. It was very cold and windy in Glacier National Park, so we built an aluminum foil wind break for the windy days and it worked perfectly.
Used twice, once last year in Colorado back country and once in local camp ground. My micro stove fits inside.
The set works well for two people. I kept the plastic foons for stirring the pot and use fold-out metalware for eating.
Makes for a compact, easy-to-use, easy-to-clean pot, bowl, and cup combo. The watertight bag comes in handy.
And for you retrogrouches out there...
In addition to the positive comments above, those of you who still use the classic, reliable SVEA 123 stove will be pleased to know that the stove with its windscreen/pot support fits inside, albeit with only one cup/bowl. I was looking to downsize from my old Sigg Tourister set for solo hikes and this fit the bill.
I would buy this again
Used this set while camping in the boundary waters canoe wilderness area in Minnesota. The pot worked well with my Snow Peak LiteMax canister stove. The insulated mugs with a lid worked were nice for sipping coffee/tea. Overall I'm pleased with the product and look forward to going using it again.
great cookset for a great price!
I spend a lot of time in the northern mountains of Alabama. I must say that the microdualist met all my needs. it holds my pocket rocket, fuel, and all the little extras I carry. great nesting design as well.
loved having this with us
This was my first time camping, but my boyfriend has went many times over the years. We were both impressed with this cook set! From the way everything nestled together, to the liner for the hot foods. Nice and compact
Light, Functional for Two
Love this set, good size, very functional and light weight. When nesting together, the MSR pocket rocket fits inside and a small fuel canister. Easy use and cleaning.
