Decent camp french press

I am a boy scout leader and a combination of this french press and my MSR stove keeps us in coffee quite comfortably.
The just slides out of the insulation sleeve and is clear which makes it really easy to get clean.
It is relatively light for a just that makes this much coffee. Definitely not a one man coffee pot unless you need this much to get started!
Lets face it though, if you are packing a few pounds of coffee around to feed your need, then 10oz is worth every once :)

Would be a 5 with measuring lines

I bought this because I wanted a better cup of coffee on Scout Trips (than the old camp percolator cup of mud). Since we are always boiling water for clean up, oatmeal, hot cocoa, etc. I can easily make my own coffee, and even share since this makes a good amount.

The only downside of the unit, is that there are no volume calibrations on the bottle, so I have to guess the amount of water to put in. I'll be making my own measurements with a sharpie...

Great product....would buy again

Have tried many different methods to brew coffee on week long backpacking trips and this makes by far the best tasting brew. Great taste and keeps hot for an adequate time. The 30 oz. is a good size for 2 serious coffee drinkers. I would get the 50 oz. if going with many more people. Only minor drawback is cleaning out the grinds (very minor)...not a big deal. Had no problem with leaking while pouring..just keep the lid lined up.

Works well for camping

We used this press car camping for several days, and it made enough for myself and my husband. We had previously used a simple metal filter that just sits over your cup and pour hot water through. That coffee tasted terrible and could only make a small cup at a time. The manufacturer recommends a coarse grind which our simple grinder doesn't really do, but it still worked well, and we could always grind at the store next time.

Perfect

This is the perfect size for two people, make a great cup of coffee wherever you are. It also comes apart into separate pieces which makes storage quite Sensible. For example I take it all apart and then pack a small immersion heater and bag of beans inside with the plunger and filter and still can close the cover. It is durable, lightweight and over all well designed.

Great coffee press

This is a great french press that I used at home and in camp for a week to brew a couple cups of coffee before the rest of the crew wakes up. I dig the durable Lexan carafe and insulating sleeve with view port. I suggest one give this a go at home if not accustomed to french pressing coffee. I've had no problems plunging nor pouring.

Great coffee every time!!

This is an awesome French press. We even used it with the wrong grind of coffee, and, aside from a few grounds at the bottom of our coffee cups, it still made a great cup of coffee - so much the better with French press grind coffee. Easy to clean even when camping.

Awesome coffee press

I just picked this up and have yet to use it on the trail but it worked so well at home I can't see any reason why this wouldn't be outstanding in a camping/hiking role. Highly recomended. little to no grounds in the coffee

Great Coffee on the Go

Easy to use, makes a decent cup of coffee fast. Also makes enough coffee for two cups so you don't have to brew twice. Easy to clean. Neoprene cover keeps coffee hot and protects your hands from burning. Great product!

Great Product

Light, durable, and perfect for any occasion. I take it camping, hiking, use it at home, and take it to work. Easy to clean and ideal for anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money.
