| I treated myself to this setup after doing a lot of research (and taking advantage of REI's anniversary sale). We just put it to use this past weekend. So far, I'm more than happy with my decision. What I like: GSI put a lot of thought into this set. Every aspect was well thought out. The fry pan and pot cleaned up very well and cooked nicely on my Primus Yellowstone stove (note: the pot doesn't balance well with the handle extended if there's nothing in it). The cups/bowls were a perfect size for eating. I didn't use the strainer, but that plastic is tough as nails and the heat didn't effect it (warping, melting, etc.). The best part? I can pack my Primus stove, a foot stand, a mugmate coffee filter all inside (which is a huge bonus when you're trying to pack a kayak). And, there is plenty more space inside the cups for spices, kitchen items, etc. What I didn't like: I ordered this online since our local REI doesn't carry this particular model but I was able to get the gist of it when comparing it to the Bugaboo. In-store, the wash basin holds the whole set together with a buckle. When I received the set, the wash basin connector was velcro (odd considering the box showed a buckle), which for my purposes is completely useless. Kayaking + sand & dirt + velcro = slow death. I had to contact GSI (call, emailing doesn't work) for a replacement wash basin with a buckle. The jury is out: I'm unsure about the durability of the fry pan. I expect it to hold up better than the lower end Bugaboo backpacker. It does scratch which could be the beginning of the end but we'll see how it holds up after repeated use. I didn't use the wash basin, but I assume it'll work just fine. Overall: Great value for a well thought out system. There is plenty of extra storage and let's face it, it's a very good looking system. | |

| When I am hiking I like to prepare good meals for supper and breakfast. This cookware set makes it easy. The weight is good considering what you get and everything packs up nicely. I recently got my teenage son into backpacking and we take trips together every chance we get. This set is perfect for the two of us. Pot heat evenly and clean up easily with the great non-stick surface. Draining pasta is a breeze with the strainer built into the lid. Insulated cups and mugs work great and keep you drink good and warm on those cold mornings when coffee is a must. I even love the fact that the stuff sack doubles as a wash basin. I will be using this set for years to come. | |

I believe I have last seasons version of this cookset and it is wonderful! I love the foldup handle which fits next to my spice rack inside one of the bowls. With this set I can fit my Optimus Crux lite inside of a mug in it's stuff sack, the spice rack, handle, two telescoping foons, fuel canister, small towel, matches/lighter, military can opener and some hot chocolate. It has NOT created any hot spots nor has it received any scratches on the teflon since I bought it. It is very convenient to have about everything fit into the wash basin/stuff sack. Once again... GO GSI!!

This set has it all: it's lightweight, practical, multi-functioning, easy to clean, and compact! We really had no issues with it the first time using it. The nonstick surfaces seem to hold up well, with no scratching and they are super easy to clean. Definitely recommended!
