I'll come right out and say it, this is likely the BEST kit out there. My girlfriend and I picked it up on a whim; it was on sale for ~ $35 and we couldn't pass it up. First of all, this is the perfect size for 2 backpackers. I love that each set is color coded (that way I can't get blamed if her stuff goes missing). This is a clearly well thought out product. On top of that, this thing is a tank! We are going on three years with this set and it looks like the day we bought it (with the exception of some browning in the handle hinge from heat exposure). I'm pretty sure this thing is impossible to dent. I have even used it during military field exercises. It works well with our MSR Pocket Rocket. My biggest joy in this kit is it's versatility. If I'm going light and fast on a solo trip, it is still small enough to take along. I just pull out one of the kits inside and use the rest of the space for storage. It really is a one size fits all kit. We have sold all of our other backpacking cookware.
On the negative side... the lid with the pouring holes is a great idea, I just wish it held on a little more snuggly. I have had it blow off in the wind. Luckily, the handle folds over the top to retain the entire kit when stowed away. The big concern I have for this system is that water seems to boil a little slower in this pot than in others (MSR Alpine Stowaway). Not much, but it's noticeable. All in all, this is a great product and is no-doubt, the best kit on the market.
When I'm hiking, I eat like a race horse, and often require multiple bowls. Not only that, but packing down multiple bowls often means that youre taking up more space in your pack.
This set is just great, bowls fit in the pot, plus you can get creative and fit a few more goodies in the bowl inside the pot, like a small cylinder stove, powdered milk, or whatever else you choose.
The only problem that I found was that the sporks that are included are extremely flimsy, one of them broke on my first night out. Lesson learned though - dont try and stab your food, especially if its a dehydrated meal.
I'd definitely use this again, quite frankly, I enjoyed nothing more than a coffee in one of the bowls with the lid on, watching the sun drop.
