Gu Energy Gel 24 Pack -
Providing just what you need for premium exercise fuel with none of the extras that slow you down, GU Energy Gel is simple to take, simple to digest and great tasting. GU takes you where you want to go, fast.

Whether you're just getting ready for competition or are already in the heat of battle, your body needs fuel-quick. GU Energy Gel is available in multiple flavors with varying caffeine content so you're sure to find a favorite that will push you to the next level.

Launched in 1991, the world's first energy gel is still the most efficient sports fuel available today. GU's carbohydrate blend delivers high-quality, easily-digested and long-lasting energy for athletes in every sport and at all levels.

GU Energy Gel packs 100 calories into every packet. 100 calories is an ideal serving size to suck down 15 minutes before training or racing in order to top off your electrolyte and glucose stores, followed by one every 30-45 minutes along the way, washed down with a few sips of fluid.

Energize, Sustain, Recover - GU's formula for success.

For optimum results, always drink at least 24-30 ounces of fluid per hour during training and racing.

Exact GU intake depends on the intensity of your pursuit and your body weight and fitness level. The fitter you are and the more efficient your metabolism, the more GU you can eat each hour, up to approximately 340 calories every 60 minutes.

GU is a convenient, great tasting carbohydrate gel formulated to energize before, sustain during, and aid in recovery after training and competitions. Made with a unique blend of ingredients, GU provides: complex carbohydrates for sustained energy, amino acids to maintain muscle protein, antioxidants and muscle buffers to aid with recovery and GU's patented herbal blend for enhanced energy production. GU helps you feel and perform your best. GU's unique herbal blend combines the perfect fusion of herbs for energy-enhancement (cola-nut), anti-inflammatory (chamomile), and stomach buffering (ginger). GU contains 20mg (equivalent to 1/5 cup of coffee) per serving from cola-nut. All flavors have the same level of caffeine. The caffeine level in GU is not enough to give a "caffeine rush," but is added to help you utilize body fat as an additional fuel source during activity.

Positive Reviews:

Energy when needed. I use this along with GU's Ultra Endurance powdered drink for long rides. I like the Expresso flavor, but have not tried the other flavors. I'm going to try their assorted pack, so that I can try all the flavors to see which I prefer. I prefer gels as I don't want to be chewing on anything for energy - just want to gulp it down and be done with it. Additionally, I have no issues with eating these.

I love coffee (and the Espresso Love flavor), but I don't always need tons of caffeine when I run. Enter two low/no-caffeine flavors: Mint Chocolate and Peanut Butter. Gu is definitely an acquired taste, but once you get over that, these are two good tasting Gus. Mint Chocolate is thicker than your typical Gu, almost frosting-thick. While not available here, I'd also recommend seeking out the seasonal Salted Caramel. FAN-TASTIC.

Delicious flavors! Love having these around in my pack. Vanilla and Espresso Love are my favorite flavors to have. I certainly stand behind Gu and their energy gel products because I believe they truly work when every piece of energy is needed to complete long treks.

Good texture, good flavor and awesome energy. I dig the plain and tri-berry flavors. They are the perfect size for my running belt and my pwater pack .
I usually only take one for runs between 1-9 miles and they keep mefirsed up for sure.

Jocie at Backcountry.com on 04/25/2013

Tri-Berry is my favorite flavor! Good on every run ride ski or climb. If its cold out, stick em in your pocket a few min before you want it to soften up. Never had stomach issues with these.

These get me going when the miles are adding up

Neutral Reviews:

I am swimming against the tide here, but taste is a subjective thing. I find these to be too thick compared to other options - like powerbar or enervit gels. Also, was not wild about the lemon line flavor. It does provide great energy, but if you cannot choke it down, what is the point?

Jamie Preston at Backcountry.com on 05/29/2013

The flavour is not very good compared to other energy gels but it provides a good amount of energy.
