I bought this to carry a Super Redhawk w/ a 9 1/2 barrel. works great easy to carry.. The biggest thing is NOT to hunt with the flap over the weapon- use the nylon strap to secure it and remove the flap. If you leave the flap over your weapon the Velcro though does an awesome job of retaining it and you have the opportunity to use your weapon it WILL make so much noise every critter will know you're there or if you need it as a back up you would be dinner. Also if you try to bend the flap over and tuck it behind the holster the first time you duck under something your weapon WILL hit the dirt. They provide a very nice nylon strap to solve that function. The holster holds in snug to you so it's not flopping around if you're using it as a back up to a rifle it won't interfere with carrying a shouldered rifle or a pack. .

I bought this a year ago and have loved it ever since. It is so versatile and works well for my 6" 686. Love the protection that it gives, cartridge holders, and much more. Used it during deer season and the rest of the year during fishing and even out to the range. Very comfortable even for a fat guy like me. Very pleased!

Works well, with scope or not. A little wrestling with the belt, but once adjusted all is well.
