Haiku Handlebar Tote Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I didn’t know exactly what shade of blue Majolica Blue was but since I filtered out all colors except for navy in my search, that’s what I expected when it arrived. Not true – it’s more of a peacock which complements the flower stitching and handles on the bag which is an iridescent olive. In fact, look at the seat belt in your car. Mine has got that same iridescent/shiny quality I’m trying to describe. Anyway, it sounds like an odd combo but since the handles/stitching are reflective it really brightens up the olive. The bag is lined but it appears there might be some additional material between the inner and outer fabric which gives it a nice substantial look and keeps it from collapsing in on itself when not full. Almost like one of the insulated canvas lunch bags everyone carries now. I’ve only had the bag for one day and haven’t experienced any of the squeaky noises from the handle hardware that I’ve read about with other Haiku bags but even if I did, I like it so much it wouldn’t be a deal breaker. My major complaint is about the dimensions of the straps. They are only an inch wide which is fine but when you lay one down flat, it is very thin. I think if I were to load up my bag so it were heavy and try to carry it on my shoulder that it would cut into me; it’s so thin the edges would be sharp if that makes sense. I would prefer something that when laid down had the thickness of a seat belt, or more. The snap that keeps the bag closed is also kind of hard to snap and unsnap. I’m thinking it will loosen up some after use but it may just be my particular bag… I am very happy with my bag and only foresee a return if something goes awry with the snap.

I love this bag. I wasn't looking for a handlebar bag - I was looking for a handbag with 2 handles and lots of organization. I'd been carrying Sherpani's Pinot, but it was too small and I kept losing track of my keys or bluetooth headset in the bag. Not a problem with this bag. Lots of pockets to keep you organized, but not too many that it takes too long to search them all. I especially like the two slip pockets on the inside - phone and bluetooth go in one, keys in the other. Plenty of room for a full-size ladies wallet, large smartphone, sunglasses case, Kindle, hand lotion, etc.

Great Haiku everyday bag

I purchased this to use as an everyday bag. Just like other Haiku bags, it is very functional, sturdy and attractive. The center zip pocket is lightly padded and large enough for a tablet. There is no top zip to completely secure the contents, but the snap feels sturdy and holds snugly. I ordered the olive print and it is definitely an olive color (which didn't show as clearly online.) The strap and handles are all removable, making this very versatile - shoulder, crossbody or handbag. Very happy with this!

Bag is of fantastic quality. I do wish that it had perhaps magnetic closure instead of the one snap. Snap is very hard to engage so most of the time it is hanging wide open. Straps are a bit thin - this bag has some weight to it, so those thin straps dig into my shoulder.

The color is more of an olive than grey, but I think it looks better in olive with the yellow interior. Seems very durable. Lightweight considering the size. Glad it has deep pockets as the snap closure for extra security is hard to use and a little awkward. I'm pleased with it overall.

Great bag! Lots of pockets and sections for items. Have had many compliments from strangers. Love the bright colors. Very durable and love the fact they are made from recycled materials. Also purchased the wallet and love it as well.

Negative Reviews:

Smaller than it looks

I like to have a bag that is big enough to hold all my essentials plus have room for my iPad and travel mug. The design of this bag is awkward that even when it's not close to capacity, it's very difficult to close. And the bag is shallow enough that it's really not a good idea to have it open. (And even when it's snapped shut the top is open--more like a tote bag than a purse.) I really wanted to like it, but I've been very disappointed.
