This glove is so well-rounded and durable, you'd be hard pressed to find a beefier glove that fits so well. I have spent countless hours snowmobiling/skiing/spending long days in the backcountry in these gloves and they have always matched the task. Sled-skiing in BC can be a very wet experience, and these gloves have never let me down by becoming too wet and cold. The first pair of Hestra's I ever owned was this style, and they easily lasted for several years. The quality of the product is outstanding.
Another great thing about these gloves is they are very durable, yet they're not bulky in the cuff area- you can easily slip the cuff under your jacket sleeve. Major bonus in my opinion.
I up-size one size in these gloves (normally I wear a 7 in Hestra but this pair I wear an 8). I like the size 8 because it gives my thumb more dexterity, needed with snowmobiling. However, even if I didn't need that extra mobility in my thumb and was resort skiing instead the 7s just feel a tad too tight.
These are the best ski gloves I have ever found. They do a great job keeping my hands warm even in extremely cold conditions. They have been very durable and look almost new after a full year of use. The only downside is that there is no removable liner so they take longer to dry if the inside gets damp. Overall, I love them and will be looking for another pair of Hestra gloves.
As a disclaimer, I am affiliated with Gore for product testing of Gore-tex products for the purpose of product review and recommendation. I do receive items from Gore for these purposes.
I've been using these for a few seasons, and can't say enough good things about them. They're pretty warm (a little too much on those warm spring days, and not enough when it's sub-zero and the wind is howling - get the Seth 3-fingers for those conditions), perfect for most days. The palm gets scratched up a bit from ski edges, but mine are still solidly intact after well over 100 days of heavy use and abuse. Warm, tough, waterproof, and dextrous as...well, dextrous enough for anything you need to do.
If you are looking for a sweet Gortex glove from Hestra, this is the one! Super warm and comfy. The picture does not do this glove any justice. I have to say that this is one of the most comfortable gloves I own from Hestra. Not too mention I have had a pair for a few years now and they do not look old or worn. If I were to rate these on a scale of 1 - Wicked, definitely wicked!!
My hands tend to sweat when boarding. With these gloves my hands are never too hot and never too cold. The lining is not removable like the army hestea's I used to have. The gortex is amazing in these gloves and the leather is super soft. I constanstly change my gear until it's just right. Finally my search for the PERFECT glove is over! The under cuff fits perfectly under my 686 plexus jacket
These are great gloves. They are very warm and the Gore-Tex is great. I tried about 4 other Hestra models before keeping these. I've used these in all conditions and haven't been let down once. Cuff works great as either an under or over style. I had some sizing issues working out the right fit but once its right they're great. I definitely recommend these.
These are the gloves I go to super-wet coastal snow days, for snowmobiling, climbing or generally when the chance to have extremely wet hands would be probable. These are the Hestra's to go for if you want to stay super dry.
Hestra rocks ! 3rd pair owned and will never buy another brand
When i received these gloves, I was quite pleased with the initial quality. The gloves felt great, looked great, and worked pretty well for a short period of time. I will say that my hands were a little cold under 25 degrees or so, but I always have cold hands.
My real issue is the quality. Although I've had these gloves for a couple of years, I generally only get to take one trip a year, so there have only been ~10 days skiing with these gloves and the stitching is coming appart in the fingers. For such a pricey glove, I really expected more. Maybe Hestra has improved the quality since I bought the gloves and I hope they have, but from now on I'll play it safe and by a different brand. I bought a pair of OR mitts and they appear to be bombproof for much less money.
Spend your hard earned dollars on something else.
