Real Comfort | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Hiked about 30 miles (50km, in 6 days, in Yosemite high country alone with bear resistant canister inside. Very comfortable pack! Pack and contents weighed in at about 30 pounds (without fluids). The big test was a 10+ mile (1,800ft vertical gain) hike from the top of Yosemite Falls to May Lake. Adjustments were quick and easy. Airflow in the back area is great. The pack could use a rear compartment, however the strapped rear flap held my ultralight day pack nicely. Get this bargain or step up to a 65 liter. | |

Highly adjustable, comfortable pack.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I bought this pack for my 10 year old son because it was so adjustable. He loves it. When we go backpacking he typically carries 25 lbs of gear. This pack is so comfortable he never complains. I have tried it on and it works well for me as well. The suspension is not only highly adjustable, it stays put once it is adjusted. The only thing I would change is to drop the outside flap and make the bag one compartment to help maximize the space. | |

comfortable, full featured multiday pack

| This is a pretty awesome pack. It has all the room and support required to carry 30-40 lbs. of gear up and down the hill. The adjustable shoulder harness is an advantage but you have to ensure it's correctly adjusted before you set out. I liked the sleeping bag compartment and the attached rain fly protected my gear in a light thundershower in the Sierras. It's hydration compatible too. The only real disadvantage is the weight - 5 lbs - but that's OK if you're not looking to go ultralight. [...] | |

Great pack! | |

| Great pack that's worked great for everything from a week of car camping, to a few days in the wilderness. Also a great pack for climbing: perfect size for two peoples' harnesses, shoes, a rope and set of QDs. My only complaint is that it's almost too big for me! I'm a very average sized guy (5'10", 160 lbs), and the thing only fits me on it's smallest settings (back/shoulder adjustment, hipbelt adjustment)! All in all, great stuff, though! | |

Good Value for money | |

| I had bought this pack for my wife. Its an awesome pack with good value for money. Only complaint I have is lack of pockets compared other High Sierra backpacks. The font sleeve of the pack could have been simiar to Sentinal 65 pack. Since we needed more space we ended up returning this one and getting sentinal 65. | |

| "This is a great pack for the money. High Sierra stuff is built well- I've used this on 2 wilderness hiking trips and it held up very well- the rain cover worked well in some pretty heavy rain. Zippers can be a little stiff but I think they will break in more. My brother was with me on the trip and had a North Face pack that cost twice as much and he had several issues that resulted from how it was built. I have a High Sierra backpack that I've used every day for 4 years and it has held up tremendously. For the money I highly recommend High Sierra stuff." | |

| "This is an awesome overnight backpack. It has it all, great organization, killer quality and a just-right price. While this particular model isnt big enough for more than 2-3 days on the trail, its excellent for 1-2. Its also very adjustable. I have a long torso (21 or so) and this pack is one of the few to accommodate that. Its a tad on the heavy side compared to other packs out there, but this one will last. All in all, Im very pleased!" | |

| "I am 5 ft 5 and weigh 130 lbs. This bag looks fine for my size. Not too big, not too small. It allows for a good travel allowance. OK for backpacking tour. Not very happy with the rain cover. I thought it would be more like a rain/storage bag than just a cover. It barely covers the bag when pulled over the pack. I dont understand how the rain cover can be useful when checking in at the airport." | |

| "Great Bag, allows for great organization and durable. The only thing I disliked was the orange interior. I wished if it came with different colors. Also its best if you try to break in the bag before your trip because the material is stiff at first. Will be using this for a camping trip in South Dakota." | |
| Daniel from Ridgewood, NY at eBags.com on 07/11/2009 | |
| "Very durable and easy to pack bag. Can get a little oversized when traveling on the plane, otherwise overall its a good bag for camping and car traveling." | |

Not what you're looking for

| I ordered two of these after reading the misleadingly good reviews. As soon as I opened the box I could see I had made a mistake. The straps are coated with a coarse polymer destined to give you blisters. There are an overwhelming number of adjustments. There is no ventilation system. It's heavy. When I returned them at an REI location, I was told by multiple associates that "everyone returns these. I don't know why we even carry them." | |
