What separates High Sierra's rolling duffel bag from the pack is its ingenious use of space—and lots of it. This 36" drop bottom duffel features straps for last-minute lash-ons and generous, end-pocket-accessible stuff sacks for laundry.

Great Bag -- Needs Design Improvements
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is a GREAT bag. I'm on my 5th one. I travel virtually every week to several cities and I use this bag to carry everything. I love it. But the designers at High Sierra need to travel with it more to find out what isn't working. Here are the recurring problems: the bag is long (a good thing!) but it gets caught on baggage belts and one wheel always seems to get sanded down so when you pull it it "thumps", the zipper pulls on the shoulder strap compartment always disappear after about the 15th flight, the bottom plastic section between the wheels rips for some reason (my current bag now looks like it has a small tail). Having purchased them over several years, I just don't understand why High Sierra doesn't fix these things. Having said all that I'm ordering another one. There just isn't anything close to its functionality at this price point. If you don't travel as often as I do, you may never experience these issues. Get the bag. | |

Earlier purchase lasted a long time

| I bought another one to replace the one I bought years ago and used it a lot. In an air terminal baggage grab[*] I jerked it off with just one handle, and the fabric ripped. Not the fault of the bag, but I would make sure it is not taken off a carousel by only one handle. Huge capacity; on Church Mission trips I even get a folded full size cot in there; ditto for fishing trips, but not sure now abt size for air travel. | |

Holds a lot! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This bag hold a lot! And with the drop bottem holds even more. I've used mine for several trips including New Zealand and Thailand. The only problem that I've found is that it got a small hole in one end after several trips (probably due to baggage handling on the airlines). I took the bag to a shoe repair and it is now fixed and ready to roll again. I found that for a trip of 2 weeks this bag works well. | |

A Great bag for today's traveler
| Rating: | ![]() |
| We believe in minimalist traveling; however, when going to Alaska with variable weather in August, a larger bag is needed for all the layering clothes we will need. We bought the smaller size last summer. It was great for the Canadian Rockies, but not enough for this trip. A great bargain for very practical travel luggage. At less than 10 lbs these allow for a lot of "stuff" and yet be under the 50 lb limit. | |

Decent - my second one | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| A very decent duffle. It's durable enough for regular/stuffed packing of squishable items. Don't expect things to stay wrinkle-free in a duffle but the drop bottom does provide a stiffer and flatter environment. Unless you are Superman you won't be hauling this size in backpack mode but it's perfectly fine for rolling through the airport. With Sierra's great prices, you can buy this piece for a savings much greater than any luggage outlet store. | |

More than I expected! | |

| I'm traveling to Tanzania this summer for 18 days to climb Kilimanjaro and going on 3 safaris. This gear bag was more that what I expected it to be... what a great travel gear bag on wheels & there's a whole bottom half were I can store boots and packs... way more features than I was expecting... and at a great price! | |

This bag rocks! | |

| Was able to fit a ton of clothing into this duffle! The 2 compartments were great. When we were traveling back we put clean clothes in one section and dirty in the other! Just have to be careful that you don't go over the weight limit for your airline its very easy to pack 60+lbs of clothing in this bag! | |

Great rolling duffel:very capacious.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The duffel contains tons of stuff and it is very well made and durable. It is my fourth duffel of this line and the second 36". The duffel could be lighter and eventually the maker must be aware of the problem because the new models are not so heavy, but they are not on sale and are pricey. | |

Ginormous Bag! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I've yet to travel with this bag. I needed something for a trip to Iceland and this will definitely do the trick! Very large capacity.. Plenty of room for all my layers, boots, sleeping bag, etc. This bag wasnt built to last a lifetime, but the value cannot be beat for the price. | |

Great duffle | |

| The was bought for a trip to Aruba. It held plenty of everything I didnt get close to filling it for a week but that mainly swimsuits etc. It has a large capacity and wheeled throught the airports with ease. Would rate higher but have only used it for that one trip. | |

Great disappointment | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I ordered one of these bags and when a zipper failed and the fabric tore on its first trip out, I returned it and ordered a replacement thinking I got a lemon. The second one was worse and 2 zippers broke on its first trip, so I returned it too. This bag comes with cheap fabric that won't survive airport baggage handling systems and zippers that fail without any stress on them. I got a cheaper bag from Eddie Bauer like this many years ago and I'm still using it after 200,000 miles of flying. | |

Poor quality. Very weak zippers.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The end zipper was damaged and the bag was scuffed badly in several spots in the very first direct flight trip! A plastic box which was padded with clothing was also cracked. The main zipper broke while we were packing for the second trip. It is obvious that the build quality is very poor. The extra large size of 36" also made it more susceptible to damages by luggage handling system. I ordered an Eagle Creek bag last week, and took this bag to the dump this morning. | |

Fails Badly in its closures.
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The size and light weight were factors that influenced me to buy this bag. However on a flight that required six plane changes with two airport to airport transfers the zips did not stand up. The upper "U" closure lost one zip, bag still shut upon arrival, but by the time we arrive home again the bottom compartment zip was gone, the remaining zip on the "U" closure was broken and one of the end sections zips were also missing. Summation YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. | |

Does not hold up to travel
| Rating: | ![]() |
| After just 3 flights, my bag did not hold up to the stresses of international travel. The nylon is not strong enough and has a tear in it and the main zipper is broken and went off the track. Also, there are so many compartments, you have to have about 6 luggage locks, which is a pain! I did contact High Sierra and they will send a free replacement, so it is a good company. | |

Excellent Design - Poor Zippers
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This bag is HUGE! Great for air travel with large (mostly empty) backpack in the bottom and most backpacking gear in the top. Good protection for contents and allows TSA to search a full backpack worth of gear without 'exploding' a tightly filled backpack. TOO BAD the ZIPPERS are so cheap - they bind alot and close un-convincingly. This is a potentially fatal flaw in an otherwise good rolling duffle. | |

Not as durable as I expected
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I bought this bag for international business travel, long-term stays. It lasted less than a year. First the zipper failed, then it started coming apart at the seams (small tears). Granted, some of this was typical (and way under-punished!) baggage-handler abuse, but I thought it should have been tougher than it turned out to be. On a good note, it will hold a lot of gear. | |

Be aware of the smell. | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| We ordered two for our upcoming trip to Europe. The one in blue was just fine but the other in green was a disaster. The smell was horrible. I tried everything to air it out but to no avail. Had to return it. I couldn't take the chance of a trip with clothes unwearable due to smell of travel bag! | |

Didn't last one trip | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Looks great, packed well, and 3/4 full of ski gear came in at 39lbs so good with the airlines, but after one flight, the handle wouldn't pull out as the rods were bent in the bag. There isn't any protection for the rods, they are the bags support. Sad, but this bag gets sent back. | |

Spacious bag, not well made
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Plenty of space, separate compartments. Not durable, the strap broke at first use, had the bag exchanged, and the wheel broke at first use of the second bag. | |

nice try, weak wheels | |

| Its a great size for one bag adventures but the bottm is flimsy and the wheels are cheap. They broke on the first outing. Do not recommend!!!!! | |

Pretty happy with it. | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| We used the bag for short travel for 2 people. We use the bottom for shoes and laundry. It has tons of pockets. It is very convenient that it is on wheels, with an extendable handle. Also it converts to a backpack. If carrying light gear, this feature would be great. The size is great but it looks like it would fit more than it does since the space is split between top and bottom. It seems to have sturdy construction except we used it twice and the zipper broke. [...]We haven't had any more problems with it. | |

it's OK | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This bag is heavier and bulkier than other wheeled 36" that we own. I think all the separate compartments add to it's weight. We have a Mountain Hardware bag from STP that holds more and weighs less, plus is much higher quality in material, [...] Oh well. Used to hold sleeping bags, pillows etc to and from camp and school. If you actually use it to pack clothing and stuff it will be overweight for the airlines. | |

Worth only the sale price
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Well designed but not well built. It is only worth the price if its on sale. I do have two others and they do roll well. The back pack straps are good for getting off and on boats (don't fall in) but they do not stand on the wheels. Good for maybe a dozen trips | |

Not built for the airlines
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is a nice bag for car travel, but does not stand up to the brutes that handle luggage at the airport. I have two of these bags and both were found torn at baggage claim after their second flight. I do, however, appreciate the versatility and would like a tougher version. | |

Good bag, Bad zippers | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is the perfect bag for extended weekends. Its great to have a duffle with wheels and so many pockets. The shoulder straps help but it can't be carried very long. It is hard to zip and I'm afraid the zippers will wear out soon. Weight and balance are ok. | |

Could use a little more "zip"

| I love the drop bottom concept and the size of this bag. Unfortunately the zippers are weak...so beware! I wish they could make it with a bit stronger material and more durable zippers. How difficult can that be??? | |

Issue with the Zippers | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The bag is perfect for an extended outdoors vacation. Took it to Yellowstone with all my fishing gear. My problem is with the zippers. They seemed to bind and overlap. Not good for such a nice bag. | |

Only One problem - the zippers
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Tremendous capacity, great storage in all compartments. Unfortunately, if you load it up, the zippers are not up to the task. For normal travel 3-5 days it is perfect, just don't push it to the max. | |
