Hincapie made its top-of-the-line Men's HC-12 Ceramic Cycling Shorts from Lycra Power, a high-stretch, high-compression Lycra that reduces muscle fatigue and increases muscle efficiency. These 12-panel shorts have a Ceramic panel on each leg that helps regulate body temperature. No, not ceramic as in baked clay, but Ceramic as in a breathable, lightweight fabric the motorcycle industry developed for increased abrasion resistance and heat dissipation. Brushed on the inside, these Ceramic panels facilitate rapid wicking, and the dimpled exterior reduces wind drag. A stretchy chamois conforms to your body for reduced friction, and the padding absorbs road shock.

For the price I don't think you can do better. I was wearing the Pearl Izumi P.R.O. that retail for $130, but I picked up for $80. I think these are better, and these are cheaper (so I picked up 4 pair of these). Only thing to be aware of is their sizing. Their size XXL are the same as my size L Pearl Izumi. I'm wearing a size XXL and I'm a 34-36 inch waist.

Great compression for long rides. Excellent quality. Pad really absorbs moisture so if you hand wash at night and hang to dry it may be damp next morning. The longer the ride the more you'll appreciate these. Error on ordering next size up if in doubt, tight fit.

I am not the most experienced rider but these are by far the best shorts I have worn. I ordered a second pair. They are tight around the thigh, stay in place and provide an excellent chamois. The stitching and construction are excellent. Order a size up.
