Positive Reviews:

I LOVE these socks

Rating:*****
I absolutely love these socks. I found them last year while thru-hiking the AT in Hot Springs, NC. If I had known they made such a sock, I would not have suffered from Maine down to NC. I had severe blisters between my toes, but the minute I put these socks on...my feet felt like new. I was concerned they would not fit my long toes and swollen feet, but I had no problem afterall. I would absolutely recommend these socks based on the fact they are comfortable, they dry quickly and prevent or soothe blister/hot spot areas.

The only drawback to these socks (even though I gave them 5 stars) were that they did not hold up as well as I expected compared to the smartwools that I started the trip with. I understand hiking 24-31 miles a day can take its toll on a sock, but my other ones did not wear completely through. I had switched to open-toed chacos when I bought these and was worried about stubbing my toes and having wet feet, so I wore my smartwool socks over them for protection. The socks got soaked, but dried before morning and in most cases, before I was finished hiking for the day. The part that wore out was the end of each toe! Now they sure weren't rubbing against the inside of a boot and I wasn't stubbing them on rocks.

These socks are so comfortable that I rated them as my number one piece of gear for the entire trip! It's been a year since I summited Springer and just the other night I dreamt I was shopping at REI and they had tons of Injinji's in lots of colors and fabrics! They must have really made a good impression on me! I'll never hike without them again!

Gloves for your feet.

Rating:*****
The "articulated" toes are the most notable feature. No more taping, for me. Each toe has it's own compartment. Especially nice for over-lapping conditions. I Love the comfort, warmth and moisture control of the Nu/wool. Injinjis come in all standard ankle lengths. I prefer the "quarter" which comes up well over the bottoms of my tights when I'm on loose trails or in snow. The jury is still out on the durability of the Nu/wool "Outdoor" series.

I have been using the lighter weight material injinjis for months. Since I have switched to them exclusively and am washing them over and over, they are showing some signs of wear on the bottoms. No toe holes or wear around the heels, however.

They are true to size, but be sure to check the manufacturer's sizing chart. The shoe sizes for Meduim: M: 8-10.5; W: 9-11.5; E: 40-42.5; UK: 8-10.

I've moved exclusively to Injinjis for all the types of running I do.

Great even in summer heat.

I looked for woolen toe socks for ages and finally came across these while browsing REI's massive sock aisles. To me, wool/nuwool feels superior to other textiles and does a far better job of moisture management, so when I saw these, I had to have them. They're very soft, and not at all itchy or scratchy, and did a pretty good job of keeping my toes dry and comfy after hours of running errands all day. I felt they performed so well, I bought more to use while hiking and camping.

Each sock is sewn specifically for the right or left foot, and they stretch/give considerably. If you like a tighter fit, you might want to buy the next size down.

They do seem to fuzz up a little fast, but they still beat all the cotton/synthetic socks I've ever used. I do wish they were slightly more elasticized and/or had "compression zones" around the arches.

Approaching best sock ever

Rating:*****
Just got these and love them. They are a little bit of a struggle to get over my stubbier toes, but once on they are wonderfully comfortable. My feet have never been happier. Wore them a couple days I liked them so well, have to get more.

Blister Stopper

Totally fixed my issue with blisters on my pinky toe. These are really comfy, and while I haven't worn any holes in them I am a little concerned about the pilling in high friction areas that started with the first use.

Negative Reviews:

Nice Idea, Cannot Recommend

Rating:**
I bought these out of curiosity when I saw them in REI. I wondered what socks with toes would be like and they were expensive but not overly so.

I tried them on. I found they are a bit hard to get on at first, but you get the hang of it, and then you can put them right on with no problem. They are very comfortable, in fact I would say fantastic. My feet stay warm, dry and clean. Oh, they are a bit of a pain to get off, but nothing too inconvenient.

I cannot say enough about how great these are, except that I cannot keep buying them because they just plain wear out far too soon. They are worn out after about 6 or so wearing. Perhaps it is the material because the worn spots look like a net when the thickness of the material is worn away.

I liked them at first so much that I bought many pairs, about 10 altogether. I am a hiker and walker. I will walk, hike or run maybe 5-8 miles in a day. I noticed first that my toenails would start to wear through the tops. I try to keep them trimmed of course, but that is not the problem, the material wears quickly. The heel seems OK, but the ball of my foot wears a big hole in the bottom as well. These great socks wear out in no time.

I wonder if they used a polyester type material for these if they would last longer or at least have a style in polyester, because polyester socks seen to wick moisture away and wear well.

I love the way these feel, and when Injinji can fix this problem I will go back to trying the toed socks again, but until that point I have to say these are unacceptable, and it is only that these are a nice idea I hope will eventually work that I did not rate them as a 1. Someone is going to get this right and walk away with the whole sock market .. I am sold on the idea .. but not this incarnation.
