j41 sizing a simple nightmare !!

Love these boots. Really cute. I was afraid to order a sz 9 (all there was left) and when I saw a comment of another reviewer that she ordered a sz 9 and normally wears a sz8 I went for the gamble and can confirm. I am wearing normally in any other shoe brand sz 8 but these fit perfectly in a sz 9. (reference: if you step on a piece of paper, circle around your foot, measure heel to toe and if you end up with 25cm - size 9 will fit perfectly) these shoes run a full size too small. J41 - get your sizes right! it is a nightmare - every shoe a different number!

Great boots by J-41

I'm a big fan of J-41's Jeep sole technology and their brand style, so I was excited to see these boots discounted. I mainly have J-41 sports shoes and sandals, so these are my first pair of J-41 boots. They do run a little small. I am just between an 8 and 8.5 for my other J-41's. I ordered a 9, and they fit perfectly. I commented with difficult entry exit because the laces take a little time, but not a big problem. I did miss the map image on the heel. Great company, great pair of boots, and a great deal at Sierra Trading!

This is my 3rd pair of these great boots

I have looked for this type of boot for over 40 years.I wanted a brown, open toed, lace up boot that had a heel that was high but also comfortable to walk in. I found a perfect fit to my quest when I saw these J-41 boots in STP. They are waterproof (a big plus for us in the NW), stylish and above all, comfortable. The wedge heel gives the leg a long, lean line that I really enjoy. I was so happy when I found them, that I'm bought three pairs! I love these boots!!!

Great boots by J-41

I'm a J-41 fan, so I was excited to see these boots at a discounted price. Per the reviews, they do seem to run on the small side. I'm usually an 8 or 8.5 in J-41, but these size 9's fit perfectly. They're comfortable and sharp looking, and I'm sad that the warm weather is coming soon so I'll have to put them away for the season.

I love J-41s

I bought some J-41 clogs for a LOT more than I paid for these boots and love them. When I saw these boots at this price I had to have them - and I'm very glad I got them. The toe-box is shaped like a clog, so they look a bit different from that perspective, but I love them with jeans tucked-in. They're very stable and warm.

Love, but order a size up!

Have several J-41 shoes. 1st pair of boots. Always true size 8. Read reviews: ran small. Ordered Black 8 & Brown 9. 8 too small, 9 perfect. Love both colors. Super cute, casual yet stylish and very comfortable. Height, perfect to keep pants from snow & rain. Top of boot hits about 1 inch below bottom of calf muscle. Love! Not 5 stars b/c of sizing.

Perfect!

I am SO happy with these boots! They are cute, comfortable, and versatile. They dress up skirts but also fit over jeans. They're not too heavy, but still cozy warm. I've had really good luck with J-41 shoes in general, and these are the best yet! I'm excited to wear them a lot.

Style and comfort - these are a winner!!

This is my second pair of J-41s. These boots are just as comfortable as my first pair and if they wear as well as those, I will undoubtedly continue to buy the brand! They are stylish, yet functional which makes them appropriate for work or play.

Cute and comfy boots!

Really wanted to keep these boots but with no half sizes I was worried about sizing up 1&1/2 sizes. They felt comfy but my toe was at the very end of shoe. Cannot comment on how they would hold up.

GREAT BOOTS

BOOTS ARE REALLY NICE, WELL MADE. RUN ABOUT A 1/2 SIZE SMALL. I WEAR A 6 AND I USE A THIN SOCK AND THEY ARE FINE. 1/2 SIZE LARGER WOULD ALLOW FOR A THICK SOCK. GOOD BUY

Not as nice as I'd hoped

So, I bought a pair of black J-41 Mediterraneans at a store a few years ago-- they were beautiful, and they were very comfortable, despite being a bit big (in size 6 1/2). I found that in that pair, I can work all day standing up and not have sore feet. Practically every time I wear them, which is a lot, I get compliments. But, they are getting older, so I was hoping to get a replacement for them-- exactly the same-- and was pleased that Sierra T.P. had them. I ordered a 6, figuring maybe they'd fit just right. When they arrived I was very disappointed-- they looked quite different than my first ones-- they are missing most of the attractive detail stitching that mine have, the laces were much lower-quality, the shaping was less attractive, and they were WAY TOO SMALL! I wonder if these were the last run of the design the company made? Or a sample run from the beginning of manufacture? Or a knockoff? They did have J-41/Jambu's map-pattern sole. . . but they were not what I expected. End result, I sent them back.

Flimsier version of J41 Pacifica boots

I have a much treasured pair of (discontinued) J-41 Pacifica boots that I purchased in 2008 and simply adore. I have never had a pair of boots so comfortable, durable or whose new look lasts so long as the Pacifica. They no longer make that exact style, but these Mediterranean boots look like the Pacifica's only slightly less sexy half-sister and so I bought a pair in black.

First impressions: they look good, but are nowhere near as comfortable as other J-41's I've owned. The shaft is stiff but thin and feels a bit like cardboard, not supple, and the interior of the boot (especially where your heel rubs) has a series of really painful protruding seams. The foot bed itself is well padded. Even though the Meds look very similar to the Pacifica, when I hold one in each hand the Mediterranean boot weighs about half as much --- which may sound good for walking, but in fact stems from the cheaper construction used.

Overall I was pretty disappointed in the construction and quality of these boots - the first time I have ever encountered that with J-41 brand.

Weird fit

Not sure why I was so disappointed because in truth, they really do look like the photo...just not a very practical boot. I was going for the stylish in the snowy, messy winter weather we've had in New England this year and they just didn't work. They do run quite small...didn't work for me so had to return.

Cute but NOT well made.

So surprised by the poor quality of these shoes! I have 3 pairs of this brand of shoe and they are all made very well. BUT this style is cheaply made! The suede (if it really is suede) is so thin it wore off the toe on the first day! VERY disappointed.

Nice Boots, Wierd Sizing

These boots are beautiful, but I had to return them due to sizing. I am a 7 1/2, so I ordered up to an 8, as the catalog instructed, and they were huge! The foot was big, as well as the ankle shaft. Even with the laces as tight as they would go, there was a lot of extra space. I exchanged them for a 7, and haven't received the new pair yet. I hope they fit because they are such beautiful boots!

very comfortable but a ugly boot

I am not sure if I am keeping the boots. They are not attractive but are very comfortable and well made
