Nice Pack

I have used the pack a quite a few times for day hiking trips, casual walking tours, and twice for short 2 day travel. The pack feels extremely durable and well built with plenty of space for a two day business trip with running shoes and clothes. The waist straps tuck nicely out of the way when not in use and I am able to carry an Osprey 3L water bladder with plenty of room to carry lunch for 4, 3 water bottles, and snacks.

My only complaint, the shoulder straps are extremely stiff and ride a little high on my back. This is not a bad thing when on day trips where both straps are utilized, but it makes it harder when I want to carry the pack over a single shoulder.

great size backpack

the small zipper at the top which opens the small pouch, snags sometimes. I wish ALL the zippers were large. most are. its lightweight, but the material is very durable, it works good for school, but it might be an overkill for school, unless you carry a lot of books and gear to school this bag might be too big for a normal student. I love the padding, it makes is confortable to use. I wish it had a cell phone or small pouch on one of the front shoulder straps. that would make it a really awesome bag, ive seen it on other brands and I wish I had it. I could put money or id cards and or cell phone or bus pass.

Okay so far - Used only once

Used just once so far, for hiking on snow. Like all the compartments, bladder fits okay. Could use a bigger hole for putting the tube through. Happy for ice axe loop, but requires a good strap at top of pack to secure it. Pack protrudes further than I would like - could use compression straps toward the top. Would like straps or anchors on bottom of pack to lash stuff. Chest strap should adjust even higher for those of us who are small females, but need a larger pack. Could use more substantial waist strap.

Having said all of this, I think I am going to be very happy with this pack. It is difficult to find one with all the details I like.

Not only the best backpack but the best thing in general. This backpack has changed my life. It is the strongest backpack in the world. It has like 50 bagillion pockets. I look at other kids with their other backpacks to fit 20 books into them and it makes me wonder, do they have enough food to make it through the week? I can fit my old JanSport Equinox 33 full of books inside the large pocket. I would sleep in it if the homeless hadn't already (they really like it). If you do not buy this backpack then you will live a pointless short life.

I love this backpack! It's just awesome. I ordered it 2 days before a trip to Europe as a second bag for side trips. Of course I could depend on Zappos to deliver. The quality is exceptional; it's not too big, not too small. There are ample pockets for carrying everything, shoes, toiletries, books. I used it for a 3 night excursion and had plenty of room to spare, so it can do a 5 day trip no problem for light packers. It looks great too. I got the Dusty Blue and love it. Highly recommend this bag.

This is a great backpack! I am starting in a new program for school and have a much bigger textbook load. I was in need of a backpack that could hold a lot more while still being comfortable enough to carry that much. This backpack is perfect. I feel that when I am done with college, I will still have many uses for it. I got the dusty blue color and like it. As always, Zappos was wonderful to deal with.

Perfect For The Active Nerd!

This bag was just what the Dr. ordered! I work downtown, do a lot of sailing, and I dont always go home at night! Its good to have a bag thats strong, comfortable, has easy access, can, hold some personals, dress shoes, laptop, snacks, and a rain parka. 25lbs or more daily and its commom to walk a mile between buses, cabs, subways, and boats. I've tried a few bags :( Thank God for a real Urban Daypack! :))

Large and roomy

I probably could have gone down a size, but it has a lot of room and many pockets for my textbooks and laptop. It's great as a student. It is sort of heavy so I don't know how it would fair for backpacking or similar use, but it has a nice cushion for your back so you might be okay.

Awesome Backpack provides comfort&space

My son is a senior in High School and has gone thru many backpacks during the years. This is his absolute favorite! It is stylish and comfortable. It has enough room for books & a laptop. Most importantly, he says the air vent cushions on the shoulder straps and back of pack make it very comfortable to carry.

Versatile Pack

I've had one for years and use it for just about everything. A book bag for school, day hikes and travel. It has proven to be very versatile and has withstood a great deal of abuse with no problems. My wife started hiking with me and I bought another one for her. Love the pack.

Negative Reviews:

A big step back :(

I received this pack as a replacement for model #TUV6 pack previously sold as the Odyssey Daypack. What a serious disappointment. The back padding and shoulder straps have been replaced with an excessively cheap foam material that I sincerely doubt will last nearly as long as the Bio-Vent material used on the older model and the TTF0, the predecessor to the TUV6 (they had a lot more in common than with this new bag). Additionally, the zippered compartment for the camelback sleeve has been removed so you are now left to choose between that and your laptop. Also, the pencil organization pocket has been changed to a completely useless format. The sleeves have a weird shape that aren't suited for much of anything. And my biggest gripe of all, they changed from two main compartments to one big compartment. I liked keeping my books separate from folders and notebooks, and it's nice having two compartments when I used the pack for travel, so this was a serious blow back. Overall I am highly unsatisfied with this pack, especially for the price. I found one TUV6 from another website so I scooped it up and will be sending this pack back for a refund, and would have gone with a Northface Surge II if I hadn't found the TUV6 elsewhere.

Good but pricey

I bought it for my son since it was his birthday wish. I would never make this choice myself.

Decent backpack

Good backpack, it was just too bulky for me and the waist strap was really cheap and inadequate for its size
