This backpacking stove has so many great features, it's hard to know where to begin. The Jetboil® GCS's cooking pot also contributes to the top-rate fuel efficiency. It comes with an insulating cozy that does its part to retain heat, and is made of hard-anodized aluminum with conductivity superior to stainless steel and titanium. When the time comes to break camp, the entire stove system fits inside the pot. For those who want to show off their culinary skills in the backcountry, the GCS is compatible with other cookware for browning, frying, and sauteing. | Replaced my old super fly and titanium cook set with this beauty. The pot is large enough for all my needs from frying, boiling to stewing. The lid, when inverted - aka, flipped upside downmakes a world of difference and it doesn't deform either, is solid when cooking. The plastic flex protector is a nice little plate. I place a handkerchief inside the pot, then put all the stove, fuel, pot stand for pot, and my coffee making mesh kit plus a lighter. It is a bit heavier by about 7 ounces but the added weight has its benefits. Over all I am very content with the unit and have used it for the last year or so with no issues. The Piezo however was a sore point. It was not consistent in igniting | |

| Several of my scouts have this stove. It's simple for them to use, with very little risk of problems. It also is fast and efficient. That said, the system is limiting. It works great with the included pot, but not so well with other pots. The pot sits very high, which means that scouts sitting on the ground are likely to knock it over when they get up. Scouts playing mumbly-peg close by are sure to give it a kick when the dodge the knife (of course, my scouts are not allowed to do that). It is expensive compared to stoves that function as well. | |

| A pretty good buy, works well to boil water, about 6 minutes for the whole pot. The whole thing fits nicely inside of the pot unless you have the larger fuel can. It is pretty light weight, easy to use and easy to maintain. It is a bit top heavy when filled so using the tripod is a must. Also a bit tricky to get off the burner, lift strait off an there isn't a problem, the coil tends to pull the whole burner with it. Overall pretty good for a small group. | |
