Appalachain Outdoors

Jetboil’s new Group Cooking System (GCS) brings greater capacity and versatility to fast and efficient outdoor cooking. It features Jetboil’s new 1.5 Liter pot with patent-pending FluxRing™ heat exchanger to double heat transfer efficiency and enable super-fast boil times. Like the original Jetboil®, the GCS is twice as fuel efficient as traditional camp cooking systems and will bring two cups of water to boil in about two minutes, or a liter in about four minutes. Its FluxRing™ heat exchanger allows the GCS to boil up to 50 cups (12 Liters) of water from one micro-canister of Jetpower fuel. The GCS integrates a burner with built-in igniter, 1.5 liter pot, pot support, and stabilizer into one compact unit. The 1.5 liter pot is made from hard-anodized aluminum for even heating and superior heat transfer, and features a wide aperture for easy frying and simmering, an insulating Neoprene cozy, and a snap on plastic lid for secure storage. All components, as well as fuel, stow within the pot so you can take it anywhere. As the new GCS and original Jetboil PCS share the same burner base, the systems are cross-compatible, allowing users to add components to each to create a customized cooking system. In addition the GCS can also be used with traditional flat-bottomed cookware.

Great Stove!

Rating:*****
Great stove! Everything fits well within the pot, plus some extra room for, forks/spoons, lighter, towel, etc. I've heard of the top cover shrinking, but I've used my extensively as a pot lid and have not had any problems. Just make sure you flip the lid over and rest in on top. Don't try to "clip" in onto the pot like it packs up.

The only problem I've had is lighting the stove using the built in lighter. I wouldn't count on it. It's just as easy and usually faster to just flick a bic and turn on the gas.

Like any canister stove, it's tough to tell how much fuel is left. I've kept tally marks on the bottom of the canister with a sharpie. Once it's up near ten boils, I won't take it out on a trip, just grab a fresh canister. I'll use up the near empty canister while car camping, where packing up a few extra half empty canisters doesn't matter.

Tremendous Stove!!

Rating:*****
I have used this car camping and hiking and have had it for about 2 years. It is a great product! It is easy to set up, light, and boils water in no time flat. I have the 1.5 L pot and the companion mug (which is great for your morning java on the trail). Maybe a little expensive, but lets face it, you get what you pay for!

Too good to be true?

Rating:*****
This is the exception that proves the rule. It does boil water faster than a microwave! I,m working on something light to stabilize it over a regular fire (with the neoprine off). The heat exchanger should work fine there as well. Have the Jetboil people call me.

Swoot

I've only used the Jetboil once on an overnight trip so far. We made pasta and the water boiled extremely fast and cooked very well.

I had a bit of trouble with the ignitor, but I may have just had the gas too low.

Excellent for M/C road trips

Rating:****
When motorcycle camping, I lok for all components to be minimalist and hence, lightweight. The JetBoil components meet this criteria. I use to cook and to make espresso after a long day's ride.
