Okay so I kept them

Okay so this is the second review on these glasses that I"m doing but I wasn't going to keep them then the next day I lost my main pair of glasses and seeing as I already had these I decided to hold on to them and I LOVE THEM! The only thing I will say to the downside is they are not 'that' dark during a lot of sun with the zebra lenses however the best part about that is riding home from work late at night I can still wear them and I can still see! I maintain my original statement that they are to the wide side however THEY ARE AWESOME!

I Wish they fit my face!

I was so excited to get these in the mail the other day! As usual Moosejaw did an awesome job of customer service they were on back order and the Jaw had them drop shipped to me from Julbo! They are awesome! The magnetic side pieces were my hesitation because I was afraid I would loose them. They're pretty solid I wouldn't worry too much. But the fit on them is to the wide side, I usually wear fairly big glasses but these are really wide! Other than that I wish I could keep them but they are going back cause of the fit.

Great coverage without looking like a bug

I purchased these instead of the Julbo Explorers after trying both because they weighed less and offered great coverage. I have a pair with the Camel lenses and am very pleased with the quality and transition from light to dark. I find the lenses slightly too dark to drive with but they are great on the mountain (or beach). I agree with another reviewer’s comment that they are a bit wide and won’t fit everyone. My initial concerns about the magnetic sides were unfounded as they’ve performed great and are very secure. Overall, I think these are the best mountaineering glasses Julbo makes.

Great pair of comfortable glacier glasses

I picked the Bivouak over the Explorer because they weigh significantly less (I had the chance to use both). The coverage is great but as another reviewer noted they are on the wide side. I have the camel lenses love them even if they are too dark to drive with. On hard ascents there is a slight fogging problem but that is consistent with all glasses I've used. Overall, I think these are the best glasses Julbo makes. If they fit your face you can't go wrong.

I wear these everywhere, every time I'm outside

These sunglasses are fantastic. The camel antifog lenses are great - I've never had a serious problem with them fogging up, even while trail running and a long day backpacking. The removable side shields are great and really secure when attached. Some reviews said they are too dark for driving but I've never had a problem while on the road. They are a bit bigger (not too bad), but with the adjustable strap that's included they always feel secure on my head.

Simply the best I have ever used for blocking extremely bright sunlight

There, I said it. I've been in some very bright spots, such as Glacier National Park, and these glasses are a godsend. You have a wonderful choice of lenses, and they are interchangeable. I opted for the Camel, as it is the darkest available and also polarized. As I said on the "bottom" line, these glasses provide the best protection in extreme conditions. As a plus, they're light and provide wrap around perfectly.

Good for the city, great for the mountain

These glasses work great when spending all day on the glacier.I opted for the camel lens since they would be my primary mountain glasses. They feel very durable but not uncomfortable; I have no doubt these things will last for many years.

Do I have to take them off?

Superb glasses, the magnetic sides work great and do not fall off. Would definitely buy another.

Neutral Reviews:

Julbo make great gear, but the "removable" side shields removed themselves!

I recently wore these to 5500m on a winter trip to the Annapurna region of Nepal. The Spectron 4 lens were awesome for keeping the light levels down and there wasn't a trace of snowblindness in spite brilliantly clear days. I've got quite a wide head and they fit well. They actually look like normal glasses rather than goggles! The darker, second half of the sides that sit over your ears are malleable which makes fitting relatively easy. However, the "removable" side shields both removed themselves without my noticing which is disappointing. I'd recommend a bit of tape or some blue tac or some other way of making them a little harder to take off. Good but not brilliant.
