K2 AMP Rictor MX 12.0 Ski -
K2 AMP Rictor MX 12.0 Ski – 2012: here to set the record straight on all the mountain has to offer, the K2 AMP Series Rictor Skis crushe from steep and deep, crusty and dusty, well manicured groomers, and beyond. The high performance makeup of this K2 Ski sends shockwaves of versatility pulsing through its All Terrain Rocker technology; a potent blend that splices an elevated tip with camber under foot for solid lines both on and off piste. Its Progressive Sidecut utilizes 2 radii for enhanced turn initiation for wider skis on harder snow. Let’s keep moving, shall we? Mod Technology laces the K2 AMP Rictor with chatter control that absorbs vibration and impact loads along the entire ski. Hybritech sidewalls; a blend of Cap construction at the tips and Sidewall construction under foot, give you the reduced weight of cap construction with the durability of sidewall construction under foot. Integrated Hub Technology imbeds Titanal hubs into the core for direct power transmission that rocks to the core of high performance. Unfettered versatility is what makes this K2 AMP Series Rictor Ski the perfect lonestar in the quiver.

Fabric:

  • Metal Laminate is K2’s most complex construction, and it creates a high-performance platform that’s stiff, damp, and stable at speed
  • Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal laminates provide damp, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert level skiers. Hybritech™ is a unique blend of sidewall and cap construction. The construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
  • An energetic combination of Aspen and Paulownia wood core materials make this ski nimble, lightening fast edge-to-edge, and consistently snappy from tip to tail

Weather and Wind:

  • All-Terrain Rocker tip gives this ski a 30/70 rocker-to-camber balance in order to ease edge transition, lift the tip above soft and choppy snow, and aid overall ski maneuverability
  • All Terrain Rocker – Features an elevated tip for variable and soft-snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
  • The K2 Rictor Skis have a progressive sidecut, which is a combination of two different radii or sidecuts that enhance the versatility of wider waisted skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works great on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of a progressive sidecut on wider waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard snow performance
  • 80mm waist gives priority to edge-to-edge agility and provides enough width to power through chopped snow and float a little when powder builds up on deep days

Comfort:

  • The K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis come with the Marker MX 12.0 Bindings for an advanced skier. Working in conjunction with the integrated titanal hubs, the Marker K2/MX system provides unmatched precision and control. The system uses Marker’s Inter-Pivot Heel technology and lightweight Triple-Pivot Comfort MX toe. This toe comes with a crossmounted spring, stainless steel AFD, and backward release function.

Suspension:

  • Mod Suspension acts independently of the primary core so overall longitudinal flex is unchanged

Features:

  • MX 12.0 ski binder is adjustable up to an expert-level 12.0 DIN setting in order to provide the most precise control balanced with the highest level of safety
  • Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
  • Aspen/Paulownia Core
  • M3 binder mounting plate is directly integrated into the top sheet of this ski and attached to the imbedded Titanal hubs so there’s no drilling required for the attachment of the Marker MX system binder
  • Titanal hubs have a 50mm-wide footprint that decreases the distance between the binder and the edge of the ski for greater pressure-to-edge performance
  • 50% Groomed/50% Ungroomed
  • Mod Technology functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected. Mod Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass dampening at a targeted location.
  • Camber along the rest of the ski provides precise and steadfast power and edge hold on hard, groomed surfaces

Mod Technology.
High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.

Progressive Sidecut.
Progressive sidecut is a combination of two different radii, or sidecuts, that enhance the versatility of wider-waist skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works well on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of progressive sidecut on wider-waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.

Mod Monic.
A Focused Mass-DampenerThe Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at a targeted location.

Hybritech Sidewalls.
Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy and power performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.

Integrated Hub Technology.
Titanal hubs are imbedded into the core of the ski for the most direct transmission of power. The system hubs are functionally wider with a 50mm footprint, which decreases the distance between the binding and the edge of the ski for added performance.

Metal Laminate.
Built with two sheets of lightweight Titanal running the length of the ski, metal-laminate skis are the highest performing and most complex construction available from K2. Built from the base up, a metal laminate construction consists of alternating layers of fiberglass and Titanal above and below the wood core. Metal-laminates provide dampened, accurate, unshakable performance ideal for expert-level skiers.

2013 K2 A.M.P. Rictor Ski Review

Hi I'm Charlie, I just got of the K2 Rictor. I really like this ski, I'm going to give it 5 out of 5 stars. If you're a guy who likes to ski the front side and the groomers and really like to make a big turn this is the ski for you. it rolled into the corners so easy it really held it's edge all the way through the turn and there was close enough pop to it to get you going on the next turn. K2 has really been doing well the binding works well with the ski. I just cant say enough, 5 stars.

2013 K2 A.M.P. Rictor Ski Review

Hey it's Hunter here just got off the AMP Rictor and this is one of those ski if we could give 6 stars I would give it to so I'll go with 5. Just a deceptive ski. It's 80 underfoot, falls right into that hard side all mountain category. Tip right into a turn with no effort at all. When I was standing on the ski as hard as I could in variable snow it was unflappable. It was just enough flex that it really bunkers in, you can ride the whole edge around. This ski's a riot and whoever buys it wont be disappointed.

2013 K2 A.M.P. Rictor Ski Review

Hey guys this is Luke, I've got the K2 AMP Rictor. I give this ski 4 out of 5 stars K2's always been a fan of the type of skis that you can just stand up on and the ski does all the work for you. A little heavier weight but it plows through the crud very easily holds an edge very well, just a solid intermediate to advanced intermediate level ski. Check it out.

2013 K2 A.M.P. Rictor Ski Review

I'm Adam, and I was just skiing on the 2013 K2 Rictor, 4/5, nothing against this ski. Its just been around for a few seasons, still very great, very predictable, 80 underfoot, little bit of rocker in the tip. You can take it anywhere, short to medium turns at a variety of speeds. A nice stable ski, nothing against it, its just kind of been in production for a few years, so 4/5.
