The redesigned Dawn Patrol is for those who want to make first tacks in the pow, yet want a versatile ski. These are the widest women´s skis in the K2 line-up, and best for the backcountry powder and crud, but will perform better than last year, on the groomed. The fir/falcatta/bamboo Bioflex core is surrounded by a Triaxial braided torsion box with ABS sidewalls. The denser fir is used underfoot for better edge-hold and dampness, where it is needed, and the lighter weight falcatta is in the tip and tail to lighten the swing weight. The entire core has a bamboo stringer running down the center for added strength and resiliency. The XCP tip profile extends the contact point 7 cm. further toward the tip, which makes the ski initiate turns faster and provides greater stability. K2 women testers discovered that they usually liked the mounting 1 cm. forward of chord center. The Dawn Patrol comes with two sets of inserts, 1 cm. ahead of chord center, and 3 cm. forward of chord so that you can customize your mount. They will match G3, O2/O3, Voile, Rottefella and the 7TM (w/adapter) bindings. SIDECUT: 15.0 PROGRESSIVE
For big confidence on in-bounds junk and crud and out-of-bounds powder, K2's Dawn Patrol Telemark Ski has the width and stability you need combined with a deep sidecut and quick-turning tip for the kind of precision that you used to get only on narrow skis.
