K2 Lockjaw Aluminum Ski Pole: The Alu/Alu model boasts the largest adjustment range of all our two-piece poles and utilizes lightweight, stiff 7075 alloy for a bomber backcountry pole. The patent-pending LockJaw adjustment system allows for quick adjustments while you are making your way through the backcountry. Use both poles together to measure the slope angle with the built in inclinometer, and a single pole to measure snow depth quickly and easily.
LockJaw2 Adjustment Mechanism, Aluminum Upper and Lower, Backside Dual-Density Grip, NEW Sewn Ergo Strap, Powder Basket, Snow Depth Ruler, and Inclinometer
This pole blends carbon and aluminum, and has all the same features of the Carbon/carbon model. It utilizes the patent pending LockJaw clamp that allows on-the-fly adjustments with or without gloves, and also sports the snow depth ruler to probe snow, back-up probe capability, and the new bubble vial inclinometer to determine slope angle.
TRIAX CARBON TECHNOLOGY
Developed exclusively by K2, Triax Technology is the controlled process of winding carbon fibers at a 60 degree angle around the outside of the shaft. The external TRIAX fibers reinforce and control the uni-directional fibers of the pole, to create a more durable/Stiff shaft. This allows poles built with Triax Technology to feature a thinner (14mm) shaft that is stiffer and lighter then any pole we have ever produced.
The High-strength 7075 and 6061 aircraft aluminum creates a seamless tubing shaft for a durable alternative to our composite shafts.
Always have a back-up with the Lockjaw Carbon and Aluminum Probe Poles from K2. A Triax-reinforced carbon upper and durable aluminum lower section give you a well-balanced pole that can handle loads of abuse. The Lockjaw2 mechanism is rock-solid, and the bubble vial inclinometer provides a good starting point for assessing safety.
Half your avalanche safety kit is already built into the design of the K2 LockJaw Adjustable Carbon/Aluminum Probe Pole. From the tough-but-lightweight shaft to the built-in inclinometer, this pole was designed for the dedicated backcountry skier. You want this pole if you're into dawn, dusk, or powder patrols far away from the help of ski patrol.
