Winter Atheltic Boots | |

These are the boots to wear if you are looking to do winter outdoor activity that involes walking. Unlike the traditional "pac" boot or Sorels as most people know, these boots fit well, and are relatively light weight. They are not floppy and do not have excessive heel slip. You can lace them up to the ankles only and slip in and out of them, or you can lace them all the way up for some serious action. They are plenty warm, but the liner do not come out. A double boot, sorel pac type with removable linears, are floppy by nature. Water proof boots of this caliber are not breathable, so foot sweat can cause dampness inside. Drying the inside requires a boot dryer. Out of the box the boot is very stiff and might be uncomfortable at the top of the cuff/chalf/shin area. I simply laced them up the the 2nd to last hook for the first several times wearing it. They have since softened up and I lace them all the way to the top now. Though the boot is 11 inch tall, the tounge is not fully gusteted, or attached to the boot all the way to the cuff/top (the last three hooks). Thus if you stand in 10" deep water, they will get wet. But these are winter/snow boots not waders. The lacing hardware is some of the best I have ever seen. The pivoting lower eyes, and first locking hook, really keep the lacing pressure distributed evenly over the forefoot, and secure for all day wear. The back logo tab if beefy enough to work as a semi automatic crampon notch, but not really in the right spot. Might work if you have alot of vertical adjustment in the heel piece of your crampons. I have been very pleased with these boots and Kamik as a company.

| The Ultimate - I wish it were possible to give a more balanced review of this product, and of Zappos, alas-I cannot. This Kamik boot was a great fit out of the box. It is designed to be extraordinarily adjustable to your foot/ankle/leg size(s). I bought these for my father, who is 77, has extremely wide feet, gout, and difficulty pulling a boot on and off. In addition, because of its use, he needs a very light boot that is waterproof. Finally, the removable footbed assist with uncomfortable swollen joint. So, the Kamik fit the bill, it is the perfect boot-very light, very warm, very durable, GREAT arch support, fits like a glove excellent workmanship. Enter Zappos- we ordered about 5 different boots so he could try several alternatives to see if they fit (he's 14 eee to boot-can't buy locally). We decided we'd better order all of the five we found on Zappos using the excellent search engine, amazingly- two actually met all his criteria (this and the Dunham Crew Chief). We decided to buy both and shipped the other three back. Free. In addition, our money was refunded in three days. If this company doesn't change- buy stock. I'll never buy shoes anywhere else. And as for Kamik- I'm a believer. I live in the Arctic and own Sorels, Vendramini's. Baffins and Redwings (I'm a quality footwear freak); Kamik is now among my faves! | |

| Great Winter boot - Boot is super stiff right out of the box. I believe the tongue was dipped in a water proofing solution that dries rock hard. Don't fret they break in. The tongue is not full gusseted, meaning that at the top the tongue separates from the rest of the boot. Therefore you can not submerge the boot all the way to the top with out taking in water. If that is important to you. Also the tongue has waterproof fabric, not all leather. Don't know if they will stay water proof. The sole is also very stiff. Without the flexibility, traction suffers. Boot felt a little smaller than marked, but I kept it anyways. With the insulation there is no need to wear a thick sock. The close, climbing shoe fit, makes a great winter walking boot, unlike a typical PAC boot. Over all I like the boot and I have had many winter boots. Zappos was great to buy from including their price match protection. | |

| I chose these boots for my husband, ordered a half-size larger based on the other reviews here, but ended up exchanging it for another half-size larger (husband's regular shoes size is 10, we ended up getting an 11). He likes these boots a lot though he did complain about the way the tops hit his legs (these are his highest boots to date). His solution is to not lace them all the way up. He said they're definitely warm and comfortable. Zappos was great as usual. | |

| Great service from Zappos - The first pair I received was missing a quick lace grommet. Zappos replaced them and gave me a $25 coupon for future use. The second pair never arrived due to UPS error. Zappos quickly replaced them, and gave me another $25 coupon. The final pair meets my needs for winter work, plowing, and general use in snow and cold winter conditions. My only complaint is the one of the laces broke after about a week of wear. | |

| Tested out in Boston's 30" of snow! Boston just received 30" of snow and the temperature has been hovering around 15 - 20 degrees and these boots have been great. They felt a little stiff at first but I am hoping that they will break in with more wear. I would recommend these boots to anyone who is looking for a warm and waterproof boot. Make sure you buy at least one size larger than you normally wear! | |

| Kamik Patriot - I love the boot. I would order the boot again. The boot is very comfortable and I'm pleased with the quality. Thanks to the other comments I read, I ordered one size larger, a size 14 instead of a size 13, and it fit just great. Since most of our very cold temperatures were past when I started wearing the boot so I'm not sure of its thermal capabilities. | |

| One Great Boot - I work for Fedex and I need good snow boots. These boots keep my feet warm and dry. The only wetness is because my feet get so hot they sweat. The height of the boot is great for snow covered yards and it doesn't make them uncomfortable. Traction is good in snow bad on ice but what boot is good one ice. | |

I'm just a city slicker who was looking for a boot to handle intermediate snowfall. This boot provided the height, traction and waterproof qualities that fit the bill. The boots are made of tough and durable materials that can hold up to anything. The deep treads worked well in ice and snow preventing me from slipping on my...

| Ready for snow - By far, the best snow boot Ive ever had! Very comfortable and warm, without that suffocating feeling. The boot does run a full half size small! Boy, I am glad I read the other reviews before ordering. And as usual, zappos.com's shipping was very fast I love my Zappos! -warm in NJ | |

| Laces broke too! I've already submitted my review for these shoes a few weeks ago, but I wanted to add my agreement with the previous reviewer. The laces in my husband's boots also got frayed after he used the boots 3x. Three times! We contacted Kamik about a replacement, but they said they do not sell or replace shoelaces. Wow, talk about poor service! The boots are quite warm, but now I'm in doubt about its durability. I love Zappos, but no more Kamiks for me! | |
