While other companies might sit on an award-winning ski until it becomes obsolete, Karhu is never satisfied. This season they added a titanal layer and a progressive all-mountain sidecut to the critically-acclaimed Jak Telemark and Alpine Touring Ski. Don't panic if you dearly loved your old Jaks. After a few turns on these Jaks, you'll fall in love all over again. Titanal PowerClaws beneath the bindings improve edge grip under your foot and reduce the risk of pulling a binding in the backcountry. The progressive all-mountain sidecut makes the Jak Telemark agile in the trees and floaty on powder. Smear your way over the pow and rail the hardpack on the Jak's smooth-flexing, resilient aspen/maple Macroblock core. Whether you're headed out for a day of touring or a day inside the ropes, the Jak won't disappoint.

Karhu Jak 186 Review | |

Bought these skis at the beginning of this season and have ski'd them about 10 times in deep powder. I love em. Nice flotation, solid feel, look great. I am using Targa T9 binding with them. I like to use these as a powder specific ski rather than an in-bounds resort ski on hard pack. I don't really like the way they handle on hard pack snow, but in the powder they're perfect. 5 stars.

I got these guys for a AT setup and put a pair of naxo nx02 on them. I could not be happier with these skis. I tried them out on the NH ice and they can rip on the hard pack. We got a big storm and tried them out in 2 feet of pow and they float like a frisbee.
