used it for five weeks traveling form Banff to the Arctic Circle, by way of the Dempster, back down and over to Alaska, then back east. The ONLY thing that slowed it down was water we pumped from an old well that clogged the sediment cover....a quick wash and back to normal....just now thinking of a replacement filter

Works Great for lots of Hikers

Have used this filter with our Venture Crew (10 - 12 people) on 2 multiday hikes. Just returned from the first 20 miles of the A.T. in Georgia. This filter is great. It is quick, pumps lots of good clean water, and has filled everyone's nalgenes and camelbaks repeatedly. Great product!

Use only in crystal clear water!

I used my Guide filter, with the prescreening kit, on a recent trip. My hiking partner had his MSR Miniworks. My filter clogged and was reduced to a trickle after only 8 liters of pumping. Thank goodness we had the miniworks which was field maintainable! This filter is good for crystal clear water only.
