Boots for Philmont
Bought these boots for a 10 day backpacking hike in Philmont with the Boy Scouts after hearing good reviews from a fellow scouter that has a pair and said they performed well there through rain, mud and rocks. I wear a size 9-1/2 shoe, but had to wear size 11 in this boot with normal width, the 10-1/2 was too tight. They are very comfortable so far, still need to do a serious hike. One thing I like is the laces pass through eyelets vs. large rivets which create a lot of pressure on my instep when the laces are tightened down. These boots are great so far, they look great and are quite comfortable out of the box. Will give them another star if they do well on the next prep hike and don't give me blisters or wet feet.
