Collar:

kid hikers

WE bought these for our son for our hiking excursions. He is 7 and has a pretty large foot for a small kid. If you ask him, he will tell you that he loves his hikers, and it is apparent as he wants to wear them all the time. We tried on several shoes and these were the ones he picked. I think the Width is a bit tight, but so far, he has handled several hikes without complaints. Our longest hike has been 8 miles. He did wear them around the house and to several parks to break them in prior to our hiking trips, which I would recommend. Good traction for the trails, and he scrambles on the rocks without issues. My biggest complaint about these shoes is that they are hard to get on. Since there is just the single lace, it is hard to open the shoes wide enough to slip a well socked foot into the shoes.

My nine year old son has loved keen sandals since he was four, mainly because they are comfortable, he can wear them all summer instead of sneakers because his toes are protected, and they are easy to get on and off. When it was time for new hikers, we looked high and low for ones he thought he would wear. When he saw these he wanted them right away because they didn't need to be tied. I liked the price! Once they arrived he wore them right away, and has been wearing them to school on days he doesn't have P.E. we are very happy with our purchase!

This shoe is extra awesome for my son because he tends to drag his toes when riding his bike making holes in the shoe. Not with the bad boy though. The rummer on the toe is great. The shoe fits true to size but be advised that the opening to get the foot in does not stretch very far. Overall, this is a great shoe for a young rough boy.

Good hiking shoes for kids

My seven year old son loves these shoes. He loves rock hoping through creeks and these shoes have treated him well so far, but we've only had them two months. Can't speak of their durability, yet. They keep his feet dry and gave him ankle stability his other shoes lacked.

I would buy again

I love the Keen shoes as they seem to last forever. I have small wide feet & the keens are ready to wear out of the box, no break in needed. This hiking boot is light enough for all day wear & very durable.
