Little hikers need tough, waterproof footwear, just like adults, and that's precisely what the Keen Boys' Alamosa Mid WP Hiking Boot provides. Small hands can give a tug on the tab at the top of the supportive, ankle-height cuff to help get the foot inside these, and then a simple pull on the drawcord lacing system tightens things up so your kid can hit the trail.
We think kids deserve the same high-quality boots as their parents. So, we offer the Alamosa Mid in a pint-size package, with a waterproof leather and mesh upper, waterproof, breathable membrane and plenty of grip and support for exploring trails high and low.
These Keen Alamosa Mid WP hiking shoes offer lightweight, waterproof performance for little trekkers.

My nine year old son has loved keen sandals since he was four, mainly because they are comfortable, he can wear them all summer instead of sneakers because his toes are protected, and they are easy to get on and off. When it was time for new hikers, we looked high and low for ones he thought he would wear. When he saw these he wanted them right away because they didn't need to be tied. I liked the price! Once they arrived he wore them right away, and has been wearing them to school on days he doesn't have P.E. we are very happy with our purchase!
This shoe is extra awesome for my son because he tends to drag his toes when riding his bike making holes in the shoe. Not with the bad boy though. The rummer on the toe is great. The shoe fits true to size but be advised that the opening to get the foot in does not stretch very far. Overall, this is a great shoe for a young rough boy.
