The Chamonix Shoe by KEEN Footwear is the perfect cold weather shoe for traveling or just walking around town. Constructed with a boiled wool lining and super easy slip on design, the Chamonix will become your next "slipper" for the winter. With beautiful stitching and attention to detail, you would not believe this is a shoe made for going outdoors. Cute with skirts, and pants, you can just slip them on, warm up your feet and look incredibly chic while wearing them.
The Keen Women's Chamonix Shoe lets you wear supple leather without worrying about water damage. These slip-ons' waterproof leather uppers couldn't care less about puddles. Keen constructed the Chamonix with removable anatomical footbeds that support your feet while you make the long walk back to your condo from an outdoor concert. The boiled wool lining feels warm and toasty when colder weather rolls in; the toe bumper protects your foot from frontal attacks.

Excellent shoes, except for poor traction

This is my first pair of Keen shoes. I have narrow feet and have steered away from them after trying on a pair of sandals a few years ago (which were huge on me). I saw the Chamonix on Backcountry and thought that they looked unique and somewhat narrower than the typical Keen. I took a chance and ordered them in my regular size, 8.5. These fit wonderfully and don't feel too wide. My heels do slip up in the heels when I walk, but has not been a problem after wearing them on an almost daily basis for a month since I've gotten them (no blisters or pain) and this always happens when I wear slip on shoes. These are supposed to be waterproof, but I sprayed them with a waterproof barrier just in case. I have one issue with the Chamonix, which is that the soles have no traction! I have almost face planted quite a few times when dashing for a train, or even just brisk walking. Despite this issue, I will continue to wear them because they're some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I bought some traction stick-ons and hope that will do the trick.

I wear Keen on a regular basis. (Keen Newports are the only shoes to hold up all summer, through scorching sun, puddles and miles of use.) However, Keen Chamonix are a different beast starting with the fit, which is very snug but comfortable. Because most people are familiar with Keen sandals, such as Newport, Napali and Laguna, they perhaps expect a shoe their foot has room to move in. Chamonix is not that shoe. Its sole is also less rugged than other Keens. It is, however, good looking in a Hobbit/Elf sort of way, which is why I fell in love with it. Boldly ignoring everyone's posts to order half a size larger (I sneakily had tried them on at a local shoe shop prior to ordering online at great savings), I ordered my usual size of 7.5. The shoe fit, but the snigness took some getting used to. However, I love them. They are comfy but best worn indoors or at casual occasions. I have a feeling they won't do well on the trail (lack of support being a concern) with their thin sole, which is why they get 4 out of 5 stars. That's what wool socks and Newport's are for...

Ordered these for my girlfriend for xmas. She's usually in between a size 7 and 7.5 so I bought her a 7. They fit, but were snug so we got her a 7.5 to compare. She wound up keeping the 7's as the next size up slid to much in the heel. I'm guessing the shoes will loosen up over time.

| Oh man, I love these shoes! Seriously the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They slip on and off so quickly. They lasted me a full year of travel: hiking in the Andes, trudging through the rainforest, and scrambling over sharp lava rocks, and are still in great shape, the suede just looks a little worn. My feet never hurt! They're waterproof to a degree, but if submerged or really poured on, wetness does seep through and they then take a while (overnight) to dry. There also isn't very much grip on the bottoms; fine for sidewalks or grass but dangerous on wet rocks, steep paths or ice. You can see that they're pretty low around the ankle so they look kind of goofy with socks, and debris gets in pretty easily. Those are the few cons I've discovered over the past year, but I'm still wearing them. Definitely recommended! | |

| Love Keens as they have a deep toe box and great foot support, making them terrific for immediate comfort and support. I have bunions and my other 4 pairs have been wonderful as they don\'t crowd that joint. I thought of Keens as being the one shoe that I could put on out of the box and walk for miles with no issues. But to my real disappointment, I put these on and had blisters on both heels in a short amount of time. I think it is because the heels are cut too high on the ankle (surely my heels aren\'t short?). Hopefully I can use heel inserts and the problem will be resolved. They are way cute and look great with jeans and pants. | |

| Great for people with foot pain! Cute too! I decided to finally get good quality, supportive shoes because I have really bad foot pain. The minute I put these shoes on and began walking around in them, I was hooked. Since I have gotten them, I have worn a number of times even on trips where I have to do lots of walking --- and they have been terrific. My feet don't hurt in them at all or very little which is a huge improvement. Since I have such severe foot problems and I love Keens so much now, I am replacing all my shoes with Keens. Life is too short to be in pain. | |

I bought these shoes because my daughter has a pair and bragged about them constantly. I actually bought them in brown and black and bought her the black ones for Christmas because she thinks they are so great. I just started wearing mine and agree with her. I've already received compliments and I find them to be very attractive and comfortable. I think they are a nice looking casual shoe. I would definitely buy them again.

| I JUST got these, saw on Rick Steves' website that they were great for travel. I wear a 9, got a 9. They are perfect. I have not taken them off since they arrived this morning. I got magenta, they are beautiful. Must get some other colors, too. I was afraid they would look clownish, too clunky and not stylish, but they are CUTE too. They came overnight, too. Wow, Zappos! | |

| Within a day or two of getting these, I went on a 4-mile walk. No blisters, no foot pain. And they're "cute" to boot. I love that I can easily slip them on and off. They're starting to "wear" a bit faster than I'd hoped, but I still really like them. I bought them for travel. May end up traveling with a pair of Calistogas instead for aesthetic reasons. | |

| Wonderful shoes--wonderful service - These Keens were a magical fit right out of the box. So comfortable, I considered wearing them to bed! :) Seriously, they are stylish, true to size, as comfortable as a slipper, yet a true outdoor shoe, wearable with or without socks. I just ordered my second pair, not willing to risk they may not be available in the future. | |

I normally wear a size 7 but I ordered a 7.5 on the recommendation of another customer review. They were too big so I exchanged them for a size 7 since I really like the style. The size 7 came and they are not comfortable at all! I wore them for maybe three hours--walking to class from my car, in class, and back to my car--and they gave me a big blister on my heal even with a thick pair of socks. They fit in the length, but the toe (with the rubber overlay) was too narrow in depth. These shoes are super cute, and I'm very disappointed that they do not fit me at all. I would not recommend these shoes based on my experience with them.

Very disappointing | |

I have a pair of Keen sandals that I've been wearing for a couple years now and just adore.. most comfy things ever. Needless to say I'm very disappointed by the Chamonix. They look cool, but are so uncomfortable I actually limp in them. The problem comes from the seem between the pieces of leather that comes up the side of the shoe. It rubs pretty harshly against the side of my feet. I've never had this problem in a shoe before so I wore them 2 or 3 times, hoping to break them in, to no avail. I can't even use them at the office, walking around between cubicles. I'll definitely be returning these... :(

| Very disappointed in these Keens. Too bad; they're kind of cute in a funky way, but they're in the box to go back (actually they're cuter in the picture than in person). They're not nearly as cushioned or supportive as most Keens. They're also not cut the same at all; much narrower and the toe box is very shallow. The leather seems hard and stiff and there is very little arch support. I can't imagine wearing these for any long walks or sightseeing. | |

| I do generally like the style of Keen shoes but they always seem to run small. Additionally, I am between a 10 and a 10.5 and the 11 was so snug I never bothered to put on the second shoe. They are pretty cute and I liked the color and the boiled wool look. But be forewarned, order at least a size up. Luckily Zappos affords us the luxury of trying as many sizes as necessary. | |

Not as good as their other shoes

I bought these shoes because I have a couple other pairs of Keens that are great when you have to be on your feet for multiple hours. These shoes do not have the awesome footbed that some of their other shoes have. If you just need a casual slip in shoes these are fine....If you stand or walk alot...not so good. The traction on the bottom is pretty weak and very slick in wet conditions.

The shoes, while I still love the style, were not quite as comfortable as those I had tried on in a store. Also, the leather seemed more worn than those I had tried on at the store.
