Like the Newport, the H2 is designed for function. The all synthetic upper is extremely durable and quick drying. The patent pending toe guard offers more protection than any other sport sandal, and the multi-lug outsole will serve you well on the street, trail, river bed or boat deck. A hydrophobic foam lining is comfortable against the foot, and will not absorb water.
Non marking outsole rubber compound provides superior coefficient of friction for all environments.
Razor sipped pods on outsole provide increased surface area for greater traction on smooth surfaces.
Compression molded EVA midsole is contoured for superior comfort and support of the foot structure.
Elastic Closure with Cord Lock creates a quick, snug fit, while allowing flexibility.
Nylon upper wraps around foot for stability, allowing generous ventilation.
SM Reflective pull tabs provide added visibility during night time adventures.
Toe guard so you can worry about the activity, not your toes.
AntiMicrobial EVA footbed inhibits foot odor and controls moisture.
Sandal weighs 11.2 oz.

Order up some adventure with a side of water in the Newport H2 from KEEN. Ready for adverse conditions, the razor sipped outsole and 3mm lugs provide excellent traction. The washable polyester webbing upper features the odor-reducing Aegis Microbe Shield®. KEEN patented toe protection lets you follow any path, whether to rivers or trails.

The Newport H2 is the foundation of the KEEN Footwear line. Designed to perform in adverse conditions, the razor siped outside and 3mm lugs provide excellent traction. A true hybrid, the synthetic uppers withstand the abuse of saltwater and dirt, while providing supple comfort and stylish looks.
All KEEN water sandals are machine washable and have been treated with ÆGIS Microbe Shield®, antimicrobial technology that helps prevent odor, staining and deterioration. KEEN has also taken great care to develop leather uppers that will not crack, shrink or stretch when washed.
Even in a well-maintained boat, the chances of getting your feet wet are extremely good. If you're getting in and out of a kayak or canoe, there's no avoiding it. Enter the Keen Newport H2 Sandal. The Newport H2 protects your toes from rigging and rocks, and its sole grips deck and ground without leaving marks. The fully synthetic hydrophobic uppers guarantee your feet will feel dry minutes after stepping out of the water. The Newport H2's hybrid shoe/sandal design breathes better than a full shoe and protects your foot better than a sandal. The unique anatomical outsole gives superb traction and support, and an anti-bacterial footbed controls moisture and keeps the stank under control.

This water-ready cousin of the hot-selling Newport offers fast-drying nylon straps backed with neoprene so it's optimized for full immersion throughout the day. All of the other great features, including the patented toe cap that keeps your feet protected from underwater rocks, sharp obstructions and unruly crustaceans, remain the same.
Keen(r)'s Newport H2 sandal for women is designed to give you protection and comfort with its patented toe protection and compression-molded EVA midsole. The metatomical low durometer EVA molded footbed creates an internal support mechanism that cradles your foot and provides excellent arch stability.

Meet or exceed requirements for comfort & protection

I wear womens size 7.5 or 8 medium-width shoes, depending on the brand, and found size 8 to be a perfect fit. I wear these to hike relatively tame sandy gravel trails around Phoenix, and really appreciate the air circulation in the summer heat! I was concerned about protecting a tender bunion without wearing socks, and these sandals do a great job no rubbing in the heel or anywhere from the first wearing. The wide sole creates a nice bumper all the way around to protect your foot. The footbed is cushy & flexible adequate for moderately rocky paths, but I wouldnt say the sole is rigid enough to do any serious scrambling over sharp rocks. The elastic bungee cord is infinitely adjustable to whatever fit you need over the instep. The rubber toe prevents painful toe stubs. I use gel pads between some toes that tend to rub together, and the straps on these sandals are sufficiently close together to keep the pads from slipping out. Small pebbles do find their way into the footbed, but when necessary, most can be shaken out without removing the sandals. I havent tried it, but I would guess that walking in deep sand might be a bit unpleasant. When I get home, I just hose the dust off and let them air dry. They may not be glamorous, but they meet or exceed every requirement I had for comfort & protection.

| Your feet will love you - If you are looking for your first pair of Keens choose these shoes. If your feet bother you, these shoes will probably be very good choice. Be sure and order half a size larger because they do run small. I have gotten compliments from people on the way they look too. The sole is very springy and they help you keep your balance, even over gravel. They are durable and you can rinse them off easily if you get them dirty. Even my 86 year old grandmother liked them and she ordered a pair in purple. I ordered a sort of wine colored. My grandmother commented that they even do not bother the corn she has on her outer foot because the shoe has an opening there. I have had some recent foot problems and these were the only shoe I could tolerate. These shoes are very nice and durable. A little tight to slip the back strap on first time, but no problem after a couple times. Zappos was great and extremely fast delivery. I ordered another pair of shoes I didnt like and they refunded me immediately. Order the Newport H2's you wont be sorry. | |

I wear these canoeing, camping, hiking and at work as a camera operator. They are so incredibly comfortable - and aren't as clunky/heavy as Tivas - that I have them in two colors so I can switch them out. I have the navy blue and black. The navy blue is not quite as purple-y as the picture listed above, in my opinion.

My third pair of Newport H2's
| Rating: | ![]() |
Obviously, I love the Newport H2 sandals. I bought this third pair (Slate black/Canton) because I had a 15-hour charity walk coming up and felt the other two pair (plus an older pair of Venice H2s) didn't have as much cushion in the footbed as I wanted anymore. (and there was this awesome new color! LOL)

Gladiator Shoes | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
These sandals have made it thru Hurricanes Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne! My mother affectionately named them my "Gladiator" shoes. I thought it was appropriate, so it stuck. I knew these sandals would be functional, but I really thought they were ugly! My friend Dave says, "Shoes should look like feet and feet are ugly!" Despite this, they have grown on me because they are so comfortable and now I think they are actually pretty! The footbed stays surprisingly clean. The upper dries quickly. I've logged over 20 miles on the beach and on the trail and have remained blister-free. I did experience some discomfort across the top of my foot initially, but that was prior to my getting the shock cord lacing adjusted properly. The only negative I can think of is the sand and loose dirt that collects in the toe, but that's an easy trade-off for the protection you get.

| Funky comfort - After reading reviews on Zappos.com, I ordered a half size larger than my normal shoe size of 7.5. I received the size 8 and it fit wonderful everywhere except the toe area. I decided to keep the 8, but ordered the 8.5 to see the difference and the 8.5 ended up working out better for me. (Zappos return service is great, so I returned the 8 with no problem). I have a narrow foot and the 8.5 feels loose around the ankle, but I just tighten the cords as tight as they will go and it's fine. I have worn my Keens camping and around outside and they are great so far. They do make my feet sweat, but I've gotten used to it. They are not the most attractive shoe, but I think they are kind of funky cute and the comfort outweighs their look anyway. | |

| Love these, despite "shortcomings." I bought these to use while kayaking, but also found they are very comfortable to use as walking shoes. I'm old enough that I don't care if its not cool to wear socks with them while walking on dry land, including trails through the woods. With some of my other shoes, I twist my ankle, on occasion, while on uneven surfaces. Not with these. Overall, these were worth every penny, despite 2 shortcomings: 1) I think they take a long time to dry. They are still wet in the morning, except if I am able to dry them in the sun for the afternoon. 2) They are not easy and fast to get on and off, like my water sandals that have straps that snap/unsnap. But I can count on my feet being held secure in these, so I don't mind. | |

| I LOVE my new Keen Newport N2 sandals! I was nervous when I ordered them that they might not fit right, but no worry needed. Following the recommendation to order a half size larger, they fit perfectly. I wore them all day expecting some sore spots and blisters but again, no irritation whatsoever. They are exactly what I wanted. I am a photographer and needed a shoe to wear out in the muck at low tide to protect my feet from sharp oyster shells and abandoned fish hooks. These are perfect. I have ruined many an athletic shoe in my photographic pursuits but with the Keens I can wash them out and keep on going. Thank you for this truly remarkable footwear. Altrec was prompt in delivery and the purchase transaction was smooth and efficiently accomplished. Many thanks :)I will be back. | |

| Looking forward to wearing this shoe. I love how Zappos sends you their tracking number and the shoe arrives before you have a chance try to track it! Great job, Zappos. I am taking a vacation in March to Hawaii and I really need something like this. I have tried this on before and I'm pretty sure it will work out okay. I have narrower feet, small bunions, and my feet are shallow, but because you can cinch up that bungee cord thing, it just wraps nicely around my feet. This is the second pair of Keen's that I have, and my feet are fairly happy now. I worked in a shoe store for 6 mos and we sold a lot of Keen shoes. And yes, they run small, so order at least 1/2 size bigger than you need. | |

My Feet Luv Em! | |

These are the only sandals that I have found that are sooo easy on my feet and look great, too. I have problem feet, and these Newport H2s have plenty of width for the toes, and are super comfortable and have real nice support in the footbed. I wear them everywhere, including riding my mountain bike in the summer. Any dirt, dust or water hoses right off, and they are set to go again. I own kiwi, navy, and the hot new green color. Just love them. My 4th pair, at least 4 years old, are relegated to gardening and painting. They are stained with paint, and are beginning to show their age, but are still in one piece. They just don't wear out. I am a KEEN shoe lover, own many styles, love them all!

Not good for hiking semi-steep terrain
| Rating: | ![]() |
I know these are *water* shoes, but I bought them to hike in, thinking they would cool off my feet. ... Every time I wear them hiking I think, "Why did I wear these? They have no traction!" ... Recently I was belaying a climber and the only place to stand was on an incline comprised of dry, hard-packed dirt covered with a sprinkling of pebbles and loose dirt. I was very unhappy and nervous about wearing these particular shoes at that time, and I did slip just trying to walk to the base of the rock wall to get into position. ... The times I have worn these hiking on slightly steep to moderately steep terrain, they have mostly aggravated me, especially on the trek down. These are *not* good in the dry, Utah mts. where there's a thin layer of loose dirt & pebbles on top of hard packed dirt, as previously described. ... My bad choice.

Never stopped blistering
| Rating: | ![]() |
I read the other reviews and figured most were pretty good so I'd give these keens a try. At first they seemed like a good buy because my boyfriend and I tend to go on camping/hiking/climbing trips relatively often and he said his Keens were perfect for some of the shorter approaches and when there's rivers/lakes involved. But after 6 months of wearing these pretty consistently, they never stopped blistering my heels! Granted, they were fine for the REALLY short approaches, but I also tried wearing them for the flat hike around Leigh Lake in the Tetons (which is only a couple miles at best) and my heels were once again screaming. I ended up having to return them since I can't justify spending that much money for something I won't wear that often. Might give Chacos a try.

| There is a ridge right behind the toes that felt odd. Then it inflamed. I'm back to my old shoes trying to recover. I hope I can return them but I'm worried about what to choose next. Everything else about this shoe is fantastic. I love how protected my toes are and the room for my toes to breath. They felt the best with a thin pair of socks. The shape is a bit clownish but it fits my personality. I received many compliments. They are very stable for my pronating feet. But, I had to cancel a hike due to the damage done to my feet from these shoes. | |

BEWARE!! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I bought these shoes to where on a trip and they are very comfortable. The only thing I didn't like was after I had gotten a little bit of water on them they smelt awful. I really only got to use them one time because now they stink badly, and I can't get rid of the odor. Also, while I was walking I was constantly stopping every few steps to empty the sandals of rocks, they slide in very easily. I'm really disappointed because these weren't cheap sandals. I thought they would be of a much better quality and I would get more use out of them.

I had to return the shoes and it cost me $10.00 in postage. Bummer.. I ordered a size 9 and than they were too short. I usually wear a size 8 and 1/2 to size 9 but they were still too short. And, by the time I got them there were no more size 9 and 1/2's and I was on my way to the ocean for a week of vacation. But my tevas that can't be killed saved the day.

| Not for high insteps - I ordered a size bigger, and the length was fine, but the straps bound my foot too tightly across the top of my foot. The bungee cord on top is adjustable, but was still not long enough for comfort. I wore this for amphibious hiking, and was annoyed that tiny stones got lodged under my foot. Also when worn for extended periods the shoe begins to stink. I'm sure this shoe is great for a lot of people, but it was not for me. A more adjustable shoe will serve me better. | |

A little bulky perhaps?
| Rating: | ![]() |
| My husband has a pair and he loves them. I ordered this pair because of the great deal but they ended up being too small (order them a full size larger!) and the seemed to look a bit "chunky" or bulky on my feet. The Whispers by Keen are less chunky, but my size was not available (nor was the deal as good!). I returned mine but hopefully I will run across another great deal in the future. | |
