DepartmentOfGoods

The KEEN Newport H2 Sandal used a closed-toe design to protect your little kid's nubbins while playing on the slides and swings and in the fountain on a hot day. Non-marking soles won't leave streaks across the kitchen floor when your excited tot gets home and races around. KEEN also added its single-pull lace system to help you get your grom equipped in seconds. Open sides shed water and let skin breathe, so your child's feet stay comfortable in the water or on terra firma.

Keen Newport H2 Sandal Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

My kids LOVE Keens. They wear like iron and go seamlessly from camping, the lake and the pool to well, dare I say that my son even wears them to church on occasion! I typically buy 1/2 size up and then they can wear them for a bit longer, plus I think Keens run a tad small. My kids like the fact that the H2 sandal has a covered heel as opposed to a heel strap. We like how the polyester webbing holds its color and integrity. Have never tried a leather version in adults or kids.

Great Multi-purpose shoe

I purchased three pairs of these shoes. First the aqua color for my 12 year old daughter, who loves them, wears them to school, hiking, etc. - then I bought them for my 10 year old son, in pine color, he loves them - so I bought them for myself and I do not love them. Narrow in the heel, clunky, stiff, feels like I have a lot to carry on my feet. So the kids are happy but I'm not sold on these for myself.

A hit straight from the box

Delivered quickly and just in time for a family camping trip. Our son loved them straight out of the box, and there was no break-in time. He hiked several miles in them within the first two days with no chafing or blisters. The were great for trails that crossed water frequently, and he event took them wading in the Colorado. Don't know yet how durable they will prove, but at least they didn't disintegrate on the first outing like some bargain shoes have.

Got this now (Jan, '11) when they're on sale, for the upcoming summer. These are great shoes. My kids have had them before. I love the toe and heel protection on this style. My kids wear them all summer long, walking on land and in water. In the spring and fall, they wear them to school with socks (closed toes, so they're OK.) After all that, the shoes would still be good for another season. Too bad my kids feet grow!

Last pair of water shoes I'll need

I wear my Keens to all water activities, on most camping trips, and even just to walk the dog through the dew-covered grass. They're really comfortable. I bought this style because I thought the extra straps at the heel and arch would stop rocks from getting into my shoe, but I was partially wrong. On the few occasions that I have gotten a rock in my shoe, it was very difficult to shake loose. I'm still really happy with the shoes.

These shoes are wonderful! They are sturdy and my usually picky daughter ants to wear them. She loved the aqua color. They were a bit expensive but worth the price when you consider she wears them all day every day and certainly will into the fall. Perfect for summer camp - goes from creek to pool. I am looking to get a pair for myself.

These sandals are great for active kids-no stubbed toes, no flip flops falling off- and I the kids think they are very comfortable. I have noticed the odor but since they are washable, I don't consider it a major drawback.
The only reason I didn't give them five stars is that my five-year-old can't get them on and off easily. My seven-year-old has no problem.

Amazing!!

My son is two years old and unbelievably hard on his shoes, We would go through atleast 5 or 6 pair of $15-20 shoes within a few months. These shoes are a little pricy but when you only have to buy one pair it makes a huge difference! My son wears these shoes everyday and they still look brand new.Well worth the price.
Brittney at Gander Mountain on 05/05/2012

I bought these for my daughter and they are just what we were looking for to play in all summer. She wears a 6.5 so we went with the 7 and they fit great with a little room to grow. They are comfortable, durable and cute and she likes wearing them. Plus they can get wet and are washable. Perfect.

Finley at Backcountry.com on 04/18/2012

I love the way these look and feel! They are super comfortable and stay on my feet very well! They are not the best to play in water with tiny rock moving around because they will get between your foot and sandals and are hard to get out, but if you are looking for protection and durability, these are perfect!

Neutral Reviews:

We've always had Keens. Always loved Keens. The Newport H2 is this kid's third sandal style. They are easy to get on (yay) and easy to remove. Super great in the washing machine. My complaint is that they are in the wash OFTEN. Why? Because they smell. My son turned 7 a few months into this shoe and has never had stinky feet. Not in any other Keen, not in any other shoe. But these are horse barn stinky! After one wear. I make my kid wash his feet promptly upon removing these shoes. I am embarrassed to allow them to go to school. I leave them on the front porch. Give them a try, they are great in nearly every way. But beware the added bonus - peeuuuw!!

A five star shoe for functionality, wearability these are pretty darn cute on my 7-year-old son -- but man are these some stinky shoes! Maybe it's the footbed? They smell like a sour used-diaper left out in the sun.
