Another great shoe by Keen

Rating:****
Right out of the box, upon arrival, one of the plastic eyelets had come apart. I snapped it together but it would come apart when tying the shoe. I snapped the two pieces together again and used a little Crazy Glue on the back side; it has held together ever since. None of the others have come apart. Have worn these shoes 5-6 full days over the past 2 weeks.I could see where the yellow on the heals could come off if using this shoe for aggressive hiking, etc. since one shoe has a small crack in the yellow (from compression). If you have a very thick foot, the laces could be short but they are fine for me.All this being said, these shoes are very comfortable, and almost seemed too squishy at first - very soft on the foot.

Great shoes for the money!

Rating:****
I actually buy Keen a lot for my work. I window clean and am on ladders and roof's a lot, and need a shoe that is good in all weather conditions and has good grip on roof's and cushion for being on ladders a lot. I just got these so haven't had too much chance to try them but they are super comfortable! The only thing wrong with them was the plastic eye holes fell off the first time I wore them. No big deal. I got them at a great price and am very happy with the comfort and cushion they have. And the grip for being on roof's is excellent! So overall very happy with purchase.

Great for beginner trail runners

Rating:****
This shoe felt great right out of the box. No breaking in period. No "tongue" on the shoe really enhances the fit. Shoe is stable and great for novice trail runners. If you are doing long runs that include trails that have a lot of rocks, roots, or steep terrain this is not a good shoe. Not a lot of protection for the bottom of your foot. Had a lot of trouble keeping my footing on steep, wet trails. Gave this shoe four stars overall because not many shoes feel this comfortable the first time you put them on.

Comfortable but not athletic

Rating:****
These are extremely comfortable. I was very impressed with the traction. I would not recommend running in these but that is because I prefer a lighter shoe that feels less "clunky". The toe box is a little larger than I prefer but I did get used to it. It took me week but now I really like the shoes. The yellow paint on the heels comes off fairly easily. Not a true hiking shoe or a great trail runner but somewhere in between the two.

great trail running shoes

Rating:*****
I'm a woman with larger feet, and it seems no matter what size running shoe I buy my toenails get badly battered. I've bought mens shoes in the past but had difficulty with the overall fit - wide enough in the toe box but too loose in the heel, etc. These however seem to fit well overall, and most importantly, have a nice roomy toe box with the extra protection of the Keen toe bumper. My toes are happy.

Great shoe needing some refinements

Rating:****
I'm outside alot and in all types of condtions.. These Keens fit and look great. We'll have to see about durabilty.. The only issue I have had are that after day #2 in these shoes the top plastic shoelace lumen broke on both shoes.. I had read that this had happened to others as well. Contacted Keen and they said they would send out shoe repair kit.. Just waiting for it to get here..

snug fit, light weight

Rating:****
The shoe has excellent traction and stability, with light weight. It's not a boot, so don't expect that type of protection or long term support. I rated it as true to size, but its designed to be snug; when laced it is very firm, but that will no doubt loosen up as the shoe wears in. The shoe is low cut and breathable, which is why I didn't rate it as water resistant.

Good Trail and Gym

Rating:****
Another good shoe by Keen. Sizing is Keen usual: order a half size bigger. I've worn both at the Gym on the treadmill, and on some steep trails. Excellent ankle stability. Toe box was a little tighter than I would have liked going downhill, but still better than any other hiking shoe I have owned.

Keen Ridgeline

Rating:*****
I've purchased Keen Ochoco's in the past and have not seen Keen shoes @ this price for a while. I love these shoes for everyday wear, spend a lot of time on my feet. They're well-supported and they have the cool Keen look to them. I bought 3 pairs!

Very comfy, fits well

Rating:****
Shoe fits well and is comfy on my kids' slightly narrow feet. The only con is that I had to replace a plastic lace "eye" on three of the four shoes right out of the box. Otherwise they are great. STP kindly reimbursed my out-of-pocket cost.

Negative Reviews:

Not Happy.

Rating:**
The reviews said the eyelets for the laces fall out of the shoe. Gave them a try anyway. Used for one day, one hour and sure enough the eyelet on left shoe top lace hole can out.

Neutral Reviews:

Not too bad

Rating:***
So far three of the four top eyelets have broken (and I'm just waiting for the last one to break - heck, I might break it myself just to get it over with...). Apparently the eyelets are made of a very cheap plastic, so I've had to super glue them back on. Honestly I expected more from Keen, but overall it's not a bad pair of shoes.
splice at Sierra Trading Post on 06/10/2009

Just OK

Rating:***
Same as the other reviews, the eyelets all popped off the first time I put them on. I own several pairs of Keens (other models) and none of them are this narrow and this small. Other than that they are just ok.
