Matters of Size | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
I got a pair of 10.5's and they felt a little snug on my left toes. I saw online that people thought they ran a little small and recommended that one should get a half-size larger than they "normally" wear. I ordered an 11 and spent about hour rapidly switch-hitting around my apartment. I felt that the extra toe room on the 11's was slightly greater than I hoped but thought it was something I could get used to, even though, miraculously, at that point the 10.5's didn't seem as snug. However, the reason I chose to keep the 10.5's was that with the extra toe room on the 11's there also came extra width and height around the ankles and lower shin. Consequently, I found myself tightening them up which made them feel more clunky and less sporty and streamlined. Add to that my understanding that these boots have proved to be satisfyingly warm for others and I foresaw myself desiring the option to wear thinner socks when I will be in and out of doors with equal duration for an afternoon free of toting additional footwear.

Excellent Winter Boot | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I bought these for snowmobiling, snowshoeing and all around winter use. Used them in Utah last week at -5F (-20F to -30F wind chill) with liners, a pair of Smartwool Expedition socks and Gortex gators. They were extremely comfortable and light but my feet felt a little cool once we stopped for a long period. I didn't change socks because my gators were frozen over…this probably would have helped. These are definitely 'active' winter boots. They are not 'pacs' but the extreme light-weight, comfort and traction are worthy tradeoffs. I really like the look and comfort of the Dark Shadow. I bought them a full size larger to accommodate expedition weight socks and sock liner. I plan on taking them up to the Jemez next week for snowshoeing...highly recommended. | |

| Keen Summit County - Worth the money. Bought these for the hubby and he says... Very comfortable boot. Light weight and easy to walk in right from the start. Very warm so better for really cold climates and didn't need heavy socks if he was only out for a short time. Did order him a half size bigger and it fit like a glove so they may run a little small, although he usually wears a wide so this may have been why the half size up fit better. He needed no break in time. | |

Keen Boots--VERY WARM!
| Rating: | ![]() |
I ordered these for my husband for x-mas & just got them exchanged for his correct size--my mistake! He's told me that they are very warm on his feet & not overly heavy. The only complaint i've heard is that they go up his shins a little & hurt a little when he leans forward. It could be that he's not used to having boots that go that far up his leg. Overall though, a great buy & definately worth the price!

Awfully Snazzy Snow Boots
| Rating: | ![]() |
I've found these boots to be extremely warm, especially in the toes, and very nicely supportive in the ankle region. So far I've used them for snowshoeing, winter camping and regular wandering around in the snow. My only complaint has been that when ascending my feet may get a little too warm, but that isn't really a con at all. On descents and just standing around that extra bit of insulation in the toes is great.

Love these boots | |

| I got these boots for work. I travel all over my state visiting customer sites to service electronic equipment. I needed something to keep my feet warm out in this snow and look decent too. My only issue was that I was thinking that these were water proof. My feet did get wet when trudging through a lot of slush...the place I was at pretty much turned into a lake..about 3-6 inches of water. | |

| Keen shoes have been the only shoe, once I discovered them, for me then they came out with the boots. Awesome! I have a wide left foot and the Keens with the wider toe box is perfect. These are hands down the most comfortable boots I've bought. I work outdoors on my feet all day and find that my feet never get tired. The boots provide great support and stability. Very cushy. | |

what can i say!! | |

| the best boots i ever owned. i climbed Andrew's glacier of RMNP in March. that was sub-zero, strong wind, rock, ice, snow and all rough terrains imaginable. but this boot gave it all out and supported all my technical moves. i used it as replacement of snowshoes and it took me all the way up to the summit. i couldnt climb that fast if i was wearing snowshoes. simply the best! | |

Great boots | |

| I used these boots most recently snowshoeing @ Pictured Rocks in Grand Marais, MI. It was -5 to -10 degrees F without the windchill. My feet were in great shape the whole trip. I only used one pair of Smartwool hiking socks. So far these are the best winter boots I have ever had besides my GI JOE moonboots when I was five. | |

Nice toe box, very warm but a lot of rub
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Great for warmth. Nice toe box. Easy to wear 2 pairs of sox and still be able to move my toes for circulation. The problem-there is a lot of rubbing on my ankle. There is a large seam that runs across my ankle. It rubs every time I step. I was hoping that they would break in but they do not in that spot. I will return them tomorrow. | |

Keen are Good Fitting Long Lasting Boots
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I love Keen becaise they are good fitting and durable footwear. The Summit County started to come apart after just 2 hours of wearing them, most it standing at the top of the sledding hill. The foam feeling rubber between teh sole and the leather uppers started coming off. This is happening on both boots. Im planning on taking them back in the morning. Ill see what else they might have for winter boots. THey are very comfortable and I have loved all other pair of Keens I have owned (maybe 15 or 20 pair over several years). I wore the other Keens everyday to work where it is very hard on footwear and normally footwear lasts on a couple months at best, but keens lasted much longer than other shoes. Im dissapointed these dont appear to hold up well with the foam/rubber transition from sole to uppers. | |
