The Kelty Trail Dome 6-Person Tent is an ideal 3-season ventilated tent for the campground or the backcountry. A simple pole design and clip/sleeve construction makes the Trail Dome a snap to pitch. It is freestanding, which makes it easy to set up and fine-tune the placement to avoid rocks and uneven surfaces. The Trail Dome's mesh ceiling offers incredible breathability and a view of the stars when you aren't using the included rainfly. Watertight walls and taped floor seams keep the moisture from wreaking havoc on you in the middle of the night. Cram a headlamp, a book, and other items in the internal storage pockets. Great for family camping, there is plenty of interior storage space. If you need even more storage, rig up your gear hammock to the Trail Dome's gear loft loops.

Offering a quick setup and great ventilation, this tent will keep a family of six camping for years to come.

Great roomy tent | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
Roomy, easy to set up and great in the wind and rain. You can dress standing up...if you're 6'0" or over you'll have to slouch a bit, but a good height all the same. Comes with the aluminum poles so you don't have to deal with the ends of the fiberglass one's breaking off. One con about the tent are the clips that hold the tent to the poles. Especially the ones that the rain fly poles mount into. They can tear out of the tent completely. Other than that, tent's great. Backcountry is great about swapping something that breaks. Walls and the tub floor hold out the water and do well - I've tried it in torrential rain and 50-60mph winds, and believe me, it'll take some water and keep you dry even when it's coming at you sideways. I also especially like the gear loft loops...I hook a light or two to them and play cards or just plain use the gear hammock that comes with it. Snag one of these tents and go play.

Love this tent | |

| I love this tent. I had a tent I loved for years I had to replace and I looked for over a year before I selected this tent. This tent is very easy to set up. I am an "older" woman and I can easily set it up myself. I did have trouble with the aluminum poles. I met with two nights of 70 mile per hour winds and the poles may have had a manufacture defect. I had to return the tent due to the poles, [...]. I had registered the tent with Kelty. I will however, purchase the same tent again. It is wonderful in the rain. There was a two hour hail storm in Yellowstone park and at the end of the day after a full day of very wet weather, everything was dry. I had three adults in the tent. I can't imagine six adults. The fly is very easy to attach. I did recommend this tent to a friend. | |

Good Tent With Only Minimal Drawbacks

| Being 6'8" with a wife who is 6'0", and camping with two dogs, we wanted something with plenty of room. For us, this is it. I can't see 6 people in here, unless they are 5'6". Set up was a snap, and our first trip with it was in the middle of some mean wind. It set up relatively easy in the wind, and once staked, it took the brunt pretty easily. The "window" configuration is great, allowing us to see the night sky above us. Plenty of loops for gathering doors and panels, as well as connecting string for drying and lanterns. It has 4 very handy pockets in each corner for hanging small personal items and things like water bottle. All in all, very handy tent, great for car camping. Although, it seems that it packs up pretty tight, so it may be usable for hiking, just haven't tried it yet. | |

Kelty Trail Dome 6 | |

We bought this tent recently to room ourselves and our 18 month-old son. The tent was great. Set it up at home a few times to make sure everything worked well - easy to set up and nothing missing or wrong. While it was airing out at home it decided to rain for an entire day. Not a drop of water inside (even without a tarp underneath). The size is great - plenty of room for our twin-sized inflatable mattress and a pack-in-play for our son PLUS room for him to play in. Love the ability to stand up in the tent too. On our trip the tent worked equally well, even with some rain - no leaks (although I have not seam-sealed it yet) and no problems.

Good tent - could use bigger window
| Rating: | ![]() |
I really like this tent. I've used it 2 times this year and am planning 1 more. It's roomy, goes up/down in a flash, packs down pretty small, it's strong, and has done a good job in the rain. It loses 1 star because I wish the windows were larger on the doors. During the summer I camped when it was humid/rainy and had to keep the fly on and the mesh at the top and the small windows didn't allow as much airflow as I'd have liked. Other than that, this has been an excellent tent and I recommend it.

Good Family Camping Choice
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I bought this tent through the Internet specifically for family camping (at the beach, in summer, with small kids). The tent is great, lots of space, good height for standing inside and I have even fit a "pack and play" inside. The only con I see is the fly. It's easy to set up, but it is always loose and feels flimsy. Also a warning on camping in colder climates, the excellent (and big) mesh panel allows extra ventilation and no condensation, but allows the cold air to get in easily. | |

How did they get all that room in there?
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is a great tent. For its size and capacity it is extremely light weight. There are two large windows on the sides and two "skylight" windows on the adjacent sides, all provide great ventilation for warm weather camping or a day at the beach. The rain fly is literally a snap to attach and creates a nice sun/rain shade over each door, there are two, another great feature. | |

easy set up and roomy | |

| In the early spring in 2007 a storm overnight came through the Willard Bay campgroung. Most people with tents packed up early and left. The folks camping next to me took shelter in their RV. In the morning their tent's were twisted piles of junk. My tent the Ketly Trail dome 6 stayed fully erect and did not leak. | |

Good materials, easy to assemble and stow, roomy, looks cool, and packs down pretty good for its size. I bought it because it was well made, easy to assemble, and big enough for our family of four. It's what I wanted at a good price. I can't complain after a couple of test drives.

| I love this tent. I bought it this summer and I went camping several times. I was really satistfied it. It has two doors for convenience and two windows. It is good for raining weather also. I recommand this for four or five family. I don't think it's for 6 people. | |

Not worth the money! | |

| I purchased this tent 2 years ago at full price and have had nothing but problems with it. I sent it back to Kelty after our first trip (it was a windy Desolation and Grey rafting trip) Our tent failed miserably and we could not zip the door shut after the 2nd night. Upon our return I sent it back to Kelty (tent had been used on 1 trip!) They sent it back to me with a LETTER saying that we should only be camping in grass in NON windy places). I believe they are based out of Boulder Colorado. Is there a grassy, non windy place in Colorado - besides a park, maybe??? We are adventuresome and use our tent at least 75 days/year. I paid to have the zippers fixed once, babied it for another season and now the zippers don't work at all - I don't think I would buy another Kelty product again. And I show the letter to everyone! | |

Not my favorite | |

| I took this tent to Lake Powell this past fall. It was easy enough to set up, but I wasn't impressed with how tight the zippers were stretched. It made it difficult for the girls to open the door. We thought it might rip. We also had some winds that night that bent the poles badly. | |

Great tent except for leak
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This was our first tent purchase as a family. The tent was easy to set up and had anough room for our family of 4. We were camping in the mountains of nc. We really liked the tent except that it leaked! The tent leaked at a seam about 6 inches off the ground on the front and back. It did not leak much but enough to wet our sleeping bags. We are returning this tent only because of the leak. We also decided during the rain that we would prefer a tent with a vestibul. | |
