Kenyon Polarskins Long Undewear Shirt Reviews:

Ijust wish I had bought a couple more

I am just a person who feels cold all winter long in this cold, wet Pacific Northwest, where the damp coldness is bone-chilling, so I wear long underwear every day from October to May. I have experimented with many different fabrics, and cotton wears out too fast and shrinks. Silk is great and warm, and this is my first time buying this fabric and I find it comparable, and much less bulky than cotton, warm, and VERY comfortable and durable. I will never go back to cotton "long johns" again. I love these.

Good Value

This shirt gets the job done, keeping you warm and dry. I've gone running with it in the city and have been very happy with its functionality. My only complaint is the fit...the material tends to bunch up around the bust (and I am by no means overly endowed!) Still, I know this will serve me well on our upcoming trip to Peru and the price was right.

Would Buy Again

I bought this product for our trip to Alaska. We haven't gone on the trip yet but I think this product will work fine if it is warm enough. The fabric seems very thin but my grandson said that is what the Army used when he was in Iraq and it kept him warm. They are thin enough to wear under clothes and seem to be comfortable.

Great buy

Good fit, true to size S, M, or L. Will work great as base layer for motorcycling without any bulk. One negative is that this item is advertised as "Made in USA" when the tag read "Made in Honduras of US made components". If it is not "Made in USA" it should not be advertised as such.

Great Fit

Great base layer or for use by itself. I did not detect and "seconds" in my order. All fit fine and the cut is long enough for me to be active without exposing mid section. Sleeves are not too long, either. Neck is fine, too.

Lightweight with performance

These are great products. They can be worn as stylish undershirts or as baselayers for outdoor activities. They work great as workout tops as well with the moisture wicking feature. Love the versatility and the many uses of this product.

Great Product at a Great Price

Fit great and comfortable. Easy to layer. Wore them in 20 deg. weather all day under a long sleeve T Shirt and Polartec Pullover and stayed warm all day, even with a 15 mph wind.
Hunting Spaniel Enthusiast at Sierra Trading Post on 01/01/2010

Very comfortable

I wanted a pajama top with snug cuffs - I bought it with the Polarskin bottoms. The top is very comfortable, and the violet color is soft and pretty. Just what I wanted.

Keeps Cold Out

Wanted silkies but they weren't on sale. The weather has been so cold that I needed something fast and ordered these. They work but not as great as silkies that I love.
Carrie at Sierra Trading Post on 02/02/2011

Soft and light weight

This is to layer under heavier clothing. It is very loose. I bought a small, I usually wear a small, it is very large. Fabric is very soft and nice.

Negative Reviews:

not for me

I ordered this with the matching bottoms to keep me warm on a Spring trip to France. The fabric didn't feel very soft (and it felt like it would "grip" any clothing layered over it--not very comfortable to me), and it was too snug in some areas, too big in others. The bottoms of the same size (I typically fit M tops and bottoms) were way too big, yet the shirt was too tight to be comfortable in the arms, and a bit loose in the body. imho, there wasn't enough stretch in the fabric to be a good base layer. I returned both the tops and bottoms.

feels cheesy, sleeves way to small

This shirt looks and feels like those nasty polyester pants from the 70s. The body size was fine, but the sleeves have problems. The cuffs are too snug and the sleeves at least 2 inches too short. Without tight cuffs at least you could pretend this is a 3/4 length sleeve, not that I would want that either. I have a small frame with short arms and small wrists so I'm not sure who this is supposed to fit. This is going straight back in the box to be sent back.
schnuezel at Sierra Trading Post on 12/12/2007

Poorly made product

I ordered a medium & large, meaning to keep one. Neither fit. Neck on both had seam on the side (!?) & stuck out, so there was not a smooth neck line to the garment. As others have commented, the wrists were too tight (and I have skinny wrists). On med. the sleeves were too short, on lg. the sleeve length ok but still too tight & neck hung out & looked terrible. I also realized I had bought one before & thrown it out because of poor quality.
nancy at Sierra Trading Post on 06/06/2008

nice and soft, but uncomfortably tight

Love the feel of this shirt, but the wrists are so tight I can barely get it on and they leave marks on my arms. This is the second one I bought and it is tighter than the first, though the first was lt tight as well, but I did not have to struggle to get it on.
Skier at Sierra Trading Post on 03/03/2010

Poor thermal wear

Always looking for nice thin thermal wear for winter exercise but this did not have a nice feel to the nylon. Also the body was too snug (I'm a consistent M and that's what I ordered) and sleeves way too tight and too short. Sent it back
hikerbec at Sierra Trading Post on 11/11/2010

Warm but wrist bands too small

I would be happy with this product except that the wrist bands are too small, and I've never had that problem with any other product. These are seconds, and so the size of the wrist bands is almost certainly a defect.
Horse Crazy at Sierra Trading Post on 01/01/2009

Too small and not enough stretch

Sleeves ran too short and wrist cuffs were very tight. Could barely push up the sleeves. I returned this item because it was not comfortable enough to serve as a good baselayer.
Telluride vacationer at Sierra Trading Post on 03/03/2008

Cheap feeling

This layering piece seems really thin. The fabric is very loosely knit (for a base layer) and feels flimsy. It also doesn't provide coverage of undergarments.
Outdoor Lover at Sierra Trading Post on 05/05/2011

odd fit

The neckline is tight and the material slick so it chokes slightly. The sleeves are too short for average arm length. Not very comfortable.
shannonmh at Sierra Trading Post on 12/12/2009

sleeves way too short

This fabric felt as cheesy as polyester pants from the 70s. The sleeves were way too short - and I even have short arms.

Order larger!

Tried it on to go to work. I took it off and gave it to my petite daughter. It fit in the body but the sleeves were very tight around my lower arms and especially my wrists. Besides that it felt comfy. I have the pants and they are very comfortable and true to size. I probably have bigger wrists and lower arms than normal because of my job, but it was very tight.
Deborah the Groom at Sierra Trading Post on 11/11/2009

Sleeves too short

I ordered size small and it is slightly big in the body, but the sleves are way too short, ending 4 inches away from my wrist. This shirt would be okay if you order it knowing the sleeves are only 3/4 length. A good thing is that it is very lightweight.
HollySkis at Sierra Trading Post on 01/01/2008

I have not gotten to use it yet.

Next time for laring I would go a size smaller then what I normaly get. Just to help with the bulkyness. This also came the day after I left for a parade. But that was my falt. I should have ordered sooner. But I am ready for next time:D

Good shirt, tight fit

I wear a women's size 8 and ordered the Medium shirt. It fits very snugly, and the sleeves hit me an inch or 2 above the wrist. However, the neck is not binding... so I will use this for layering for outdoor sports on the coldest days.
KC at Sierra Trading Post on 10/10/2011

Tight arms, high collar

Ok. Collar is a bit high...not quite mock turtle neck, and doesn't really lie flat. The forearms are snug. I'm 5'5" with average proportions...if you have slightly long arms these will probably be too short. It's ok as an undershirt and wicks well. Certainly no fashion statement.
Travel a lot at Sierra Trading Post on 01/01/2010

Awkward Fit

The fabric is great, but the arm of the garment was too tight at the cuff. The arm piece was also not long enough, and I have average length arms. I'm keeping it because of the fabric, and I will alter the arms to fit more comfortably.
Merrill at Sierra Trading Post on 03/03/2008

Not Great

I bought this for backpacking and ended up returning it because I found better quality someplace else. It us kinda poor quality and it was too small. I usually wear a small or medium. I bought a medium and it was too small.
Pick Me at Sierra Trading Post on 02/02/2009

Good Value

I found this shirt to be too tight at the wrists. I use it at work and need my forearms exposed and it was too tight to get it over my arms and up to my elbows. Otherwise a great shirt.
Snow Dog at Sierra Trading Post on 01/01/2009

runs very small!

I bought the zip up by the same brand in Medium and it was roomy! This medium was so tight I could not get it on. I wear a 6-8 top! Price is good, so order up!
dramy at Sierra Trading Post on 08/08/2011

okay

I really like the feel of the fabric and how it lays on the body however the arms of the shirt are too short for me.
