Best bed ever! (even if it is smaller)

Rating:****
Okay, it is smaller than stated, but my gosh my dog absolutely loves this bed! It lets him sink in a little and he loves to push up against the bolster. He is a 70# Viszla and the bed is still plenty big enough for him. (He does like to curl up but when he does stretch out his long legs, they stick out a little but it just doesn't bother him one bit. The nice cushion on his body is what he wants. We've had this one for a few months now and I'm buying a second one for the living room! It used to be a pain to get him off the people bed at night; now he jumps down and in without me even saying anything!

Great bed - other reviews are incorrect

Rating:*****
This bed is just as described, regardless of some of the bad reviews it has received. It is undoubtedly 50" at more than one point and very adequate for my 85 lb. Dogo Argentino. I can only imagine a few dogs for whom this would be too small. It's very comfortable & my dog loved it immediately. I don't notice any issues with this attracting any gross amount of hair, certainly not more than any other bed I've ever had. If you have a dog that sheds a lot, the bed is obviously going to seem to pick up more hair. Similarly, if you have a dog that tears up beds, it's going to tear this up; the problem isn't the bed.

Great for big dogs

Rating:****
Our dog loves to snuggle up in this bed! The bed is very large, which makes it difficult to situate indoors. One disadvantage is that the bolster pillow doesn't actually connect to the bed pillow, which creates a "trough" between them - probably not a big deal, especially since that's our dog's favorite place to lie! It would be helpful if future versions included a non-white bed surface for those of us with dark-haired dogs.

great bed

Rating:****
I have an 80lb, 1.5yo Doberman that is all legs and it has not been easy to find bed that is large enough for him to curl up on, but this one was perfect. he flops his head over the pillow part and couldn't be more comfortable. probably going to wind up buying another one for my girlfriends house too.

Great Pyrenees LOVES this bed!

Rating:*****
My dogs love this bed! I ordered one for our girl and our male decided that he didn't like his bed so I ordered one for him as well! He's going to be thrilled and they won't be racing to see who gets the "good" bed again!

This is our 2nd 50" microsuede dog bed.

Rating:*****
Perfect size for rescued greyhounds. After living in a crate for all of their lives, they think they have reach paradise early, having such a soft place to rest. We also have a smaller version for our lab. She loves her bed.

Big dog comfort

Rating:****
This is the second one for our Bernese Mountain Dog in two years. She LOVES it. She looks so comfy w/ her head on the pilow. The liner fell apart when washed but the cover has been washed many times successfully.

Great Bed For Large Rottie Lovers!

Rating:*****
Our year & 1/2 old Rottie Pup loves his new bed, he curls up on it and sleeps without snoring. It's great to get a good nights sleep, even if you are a puppy!!

Our dog LOVES his new bed!

Rating:*****
Our dog usually makes a fuss over having to transition to a new bed but he immediately got into this bed and went to sleep.

Negative Reviews:

Great bed but it is NOT 50"!!!

Rating:**
I almost didn't assemble this bed because I saw right away that it was not going to be large enough. When the bolster is placed it still only measures a maximum of 40" (and that is going down the edge a bit, not just straight across). So my 70# lab (who is long not fat) can fit if he curls up, but certainly can't sprawl and stretch out. I feel like this product is a hassle because of the confusion about the size, I'd keep the one I have but I feel I overpaid since it's smaller than advertised. I think STP is not at fault because the bed comes in a box pre-labeled by the the manufacturer-Kimlor. It might be luck of the draw to get the right size. STP won't open and check them I'm sure because they are compression packed. So good luck if you order this, it's a great bed.

CAUTION when washing.

Rating:**
This product was great until it needed to be washed. The inner part that comes out of the bed is labelled as washable. It blew up in the washer and clogged my machine. It had to be serviced. When I washed the outer part, the smell stayed in it. I even treated it with Nature's Miracle which usually works well. Too bad. I liked it.

Not 50" as listed!!

Rating:**
I read another review that said this wasn't 50 Inches and thought they must have got the wrong size. Even at it's widest point it is not 50" as stated in the description, it is too small for my 70lb lab. :( So I have asked Sierra to change the description and am returning mine.

Not as tough as advertised

Rating:**
My lab though professionally trained was able to easily knaw right through the material. It is the absolute worst when it comes to dirt and hair. I wouldn't mind the hair if, it were easy to renove from the material.
Blacktundra at Sierra Trading Post on 12/29/2008

not to size

Rating:*
This bed is not 50 inches as the add states. it is about 32. it doesn't fit a 70lb dog

Neutral Reviews:

OK but not for x-large dogs.

Rating:***
My dogs are between 60 and 70 lbs and this bed is just big enough for them. This is more like a 40" bed then a 50" bed. The fabric seems nice. My experience with Kimlor is that their cushions flatten out and this seems to be the same. So I would say OK for the price, but not a great dog bed.
