Korkers Konvertible wading boots

Rating:*****
These are the best wading boots I have ever owned, bar none. The interchangeable soles are a real plus and they are easy to change. The only drawback I have noticed is their tendency to gather seeds and debris in the nooks and crannies around the lacing. After many hours of wear, the rubber began to separate around the toe. I fixed this with shoe goo but it really should not have happened. I am always concerned about carrying plant and critter to another stream. You must be careful with any boot but this boot makes it easy to use one set of soles in one river (country) and then replace them without throwing out the entire boot. Since I wore these in NZ, I just got several pairs of soles and interchange them between river.

Korkers - just what I was looking for!

Rating:****
Anyone thinking of fishing in New Zealand from 1 October 2008 will need to swap the felt soles for rubber - felt soles will be banned from 1 October. This is the reason I have gone for the Korkers Outfitters, my other boots all have felt soles, but I now have boots that allow me to swap the soles as required. To give more grip in the water I also purchased a pair of the Studded Aquastealth soles. The boots themselves are great, more like a hiking boot, in fact feel a lot like my more expensive wading boots. I also bought a pair of Wetlands for my girlfriend and she loves them. Good boots at a good price - great stuff!

Great wading boots

Rating:*****
Regular use fly fishing about 2 or 3 times a week all year and all day. Very comfortable. First pair lasted 3 years, and still not finished. I love the changeable soles, and this makes the boots last much longer as the soles always wear-out first. When changing them, just make sure you clean-out all sand/dirt etc. from the grooves where you slide the soles in, and you won't have any trouble. The felt is 1st class & the cleated felt soles are wonderful. I'm about to try the aqua stealth w/cleats for the first time this season on the river. I use the "heck" out of them. From now one, I'll only buy Korkers!

LOVE THEM!

Rating:****
I recently took up fly fishing and started by using my boyfriend's boots. I wear a men's size 5, but his boots were size 11. YES, I looked and felt like Bozo the clown. Definitely having the right size boot makes a HUGE difference when trying to navigate to a choice spot in a fast moving river. But I have to say that these Korkers give me the confidence that at 5'2" and a little over 100 pounds, I'm not going to be swept downstream. They are just heavy enough to allow my feet to feel firmly secure either on the rocks or in the sand. GREAT BOOTS and the prices here are unbelievable!

Couldn't ask for a better boot!

Rating:*****
These are excellent boots. Being a women only 5'2" and under 120 lbs, I have a little trouble staying upright when the water hits me so I bought the studded sole as an extra precaution and quickly and easily switched over to them before entering the creek. They snapped right in without a problem and stayed secure. While doing early spring fishing on Pine Creek in Pennsylvania, I was chest deep with the water raging. The boots kept me stable with excellent traction on the loose rocks. Thanks guys, for such a great product[...]

Versatile Wading Boots

Rating:****
I bought these for their versatility. The trail soles keep you from wearing out felt soles on long hikes in and work fine on sand and gravel. In addition you can buy the rubber studded soles from Korkers eliminating the need for seperate studded sandals required for early spring fishing. Allthough not the lightest wading boot they are actually more comfortable to walk in than my light weight wading boots. Bottom line, the versatiliy and comfort more than make up for them being on the heavy side.

Comfortable/Versatile Wading Boot

Rating:*****
This is my second pair of these. The first pair lasted me 4 years and I only picked up a second pair due to the phenominal price. You won't find a better boot for the price Sierra has them listed at. These boots are durable, comfortable and very versatile with the differenct soles available. The soles are very easy to change. I highly recommend them. Order 1 size up to give you room for your waders.

Great wading boot

Rating:****
I use these boots in the streams and lakes of Colorado. The interchangable soles are great for that long hike to alpine lakes or your favorite holes in streams. I wear an 8.5 boot. At first I ordered a size 9 but they were way too big. Sierra sent me an 8 and they are perfect in size, even with 3mm wading socks.

Highly recommended

Had to have a second pair at this price! I love my original pair. Just wore out my first sole. Boot is average weight when wet. Not as heavy as the competition. Good to wear with standard sole while getting to the stream. Then a quick change to the felt sole and I am fishing in no time.

This is the second pair I've purchased

Rating:*****
I purchased the first pair for my son, seeing how I can wear his size also I tried the korkers out myself. In need of a new pair a little later on, I did't hesitate to search out a pair for myself. Extremely comfortable and easy to put on. Worth every penny to buy.

Neutral Reviews:

Very Heavy when wet.

Rating:***
I was disappointed how heavy these boots are when they get wet. So disappointed, in fact, that I am going to complain to the manufacturer. My last pair of wading boots absorbed almost no water and weighted almost the same wet or dry. SIERRA TRADING POST, though, is excellent. Great prices and lightening fast shipping. I will order from them again, just not anymore Korkers wading boots.

You Decide

Rating:***
The concept of interchangeable soles is fantastic. I was disappointed with the bulky feel and weight of the bottom of the boot. I ordered 1 1/2 sizes bigger and it felt really cramped on my right foot. Ultimately it's up to the individual wearer.
