Put on a pair of The La Sportiva Wildcat and you'll be instantly transformed into a cat-person. Not like the crazy cat lady who just really likes cats kind of cat person, but like a person with all of the great qualities of a cat. A Wildcat, even. Like nimbleness, stealth powers, and total emotional detachment. The FriXion X-axis rubber outsole not only gives you awesome traction on all kinds of terrain, but also the added cushion to have confidence in every footfall. With its single density midsole and neutral platform, you'll stay balanced and stable no matter what the trail throws at you. If Marty Stauffer were still making movies about wildcats, this is definitely the shoe he would wear.

La Sportiva Wildcat 2.0 GTX Reviews:

Reviews:

So far, so good.

These shoes feel very light weight. I have noticed the traction is pretty good even in snow/ice conditions. They will slip a little bit in slushy ice and black ice, but I have yet to use a rubber soled shoe that doesn't. So far the Gore-tex has kept my feet dry. I alternate between using the insoles with thinner socks and not using the insoles with thicker, wool socks. I have wide feet and normally wear size EE. My big toes just very slightly push over the edge of the toe box, but so slightly that I just had to give these shoes a go. Given that, they accommodate my wide feet surprisingly well. I am worried they will wear out quicker than previous trail-runners I have purchased because they are so light, but we'll see. Enjoying them greatly right now!

The first generation of GTX Wildcats were my favorite winter/bad weather running shoe, and the second incarnation definitely tops it. The last and general design of the shoe is the same across both generations, but there is the addition of a small pull tab on the heel that makes slipping them on significantly easier (I'm aware it sounds like a minor change, but with a pair of shoes you want relatively snug to keep snow out, the heel was the only feature I wasn't psyched on the first time around). These run great, and the entire construction of the shoe is incredibly waterproof. I've got through a lot of ankle-to-knee deep snow in these and they always come out dry. Have turned these into the go-to shoe for any bad weather.
