Leatherman Micra Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

As other reviewers point out, the scissors are rather inadequate and the tweezers do not inspire much confidence. Out of all the multitools I've ever used, this would be my last choice if I was going somewhere I knew I'd need a multitool. However, the beauty of this tool is that its ALWAYS been there. Multitools are only useful when you remember to bring them along and this tool has saved the day dozens of times simply because I never leave it at home. From cutting cord at the crag to tightening the screws on my office furniture, this tool has been my tool of choice...because it was the only choice available at the time. Bottom line...mediocre multitool/priceless key chain.

Extremely useful, pocket sized tool for everyday use or on the trail

The micra is the perfect tool for pocket carry. It is a miniature version of the standard Leatherman. The scissors are perfect for cutting rope, thin wire, brush, and many more things. The knife is razor sharp and the stainless steel makes the blade stay sharp for long periods of time without sharpening. I carry it every day to work and if I go camping or hiking, it is one of the first things I make sure to pack. Extremely happy with this product and recommend it to any person. It is the perfect combination of size, functionality, and cost efficient.

No stupid colored shell!

I use this tool every day to cut twine, open packages (including beer bottles), and tighten my eyeglass screws.

It has become such a part of me that I forget about it and have had two of them taken off me when I was in a hurry at a security checkpoint.

The second one I got elsewhere had an outer powder coated shell to give it color. This shell quickly looked worn and added weight, bulk, and pointlessness to the tool. The one I just bought here has no such nonsense.

Really Nice Scissors

This thing is great, for what it does. If you are looking to replace your 100 function knife then this probably isn't for you. The blade isn't very useful and the nail file seems a little silly, however if you want a great lightweight pair of scissors this is the tool. I keep it i my first aid kit because it is very light and a vast improvement over the scissors that are normally included. They are great for cutting thick gauze or tape.

Light, functional

I refuse to carry the weight of a full-size multi-tool when backpacking. The micra gets the job done at a very low weight. I have carried one for years and have no complaints, no failures, and nothing I would add or take away. It may be the perfect backpacking multi-tool. Well, o.k. the steel on the knife blade doesn't hold an edge the way a good knife does...but that is really nitpicking as I carry a separate fixed blade or folding knife anyway.
PAUL at Moosejaw on 12/06/2009

The build quality on this thing is excellent, the scissors cut though cardboard and plastic packaging easily, and the knife is also super sharp. Some shortcomings: the nail file could be more aggressive, but on such as small tool its not that big of a deal; and the tweezers could be better. However, as previous reviews have said, you've always got this tool with you, and since it I hardly use the tweezers or nail file I find this tool very useful.

Tame version of the classic multi-tool.

This tiny knife will fit in any pocket, anywhere. It's the multi-tool for everyday life. Scissors that make charp, clean cuts, a small blade, and other handy tools. This is a must-have. It has a key-ring, so, if you don't have a pocket, or you don't want to keep it in your purse, just attach it to your keys. There's just one thing: the scissors are the main function, but all the other tools are somewhat hard to access underneath.

Low weight, high utility

I carry this tiny multifunction tool on every expedition. Here are some of the things I have used it for: pulling out splinters, tightening glasses screws, tightening standard screws, fly fishing, cutting moleskin for blisters, trimming callouses, cutting cheese, light cooking, finger nail management, and opening a beer bottle. As a physician I bought it also knowing I could use it for an emergency tracheostomy. Fortunately I haven't had to do one, at least so far.

If you need a good mini scissors this is it!

I haven't found a better micro/mini pair of scissors yet, they are way better than what comes in most swiss army style knives. That said if you don't need the scissors the rest of the functions aren't that useful in such a small size. In the end it's the scissors that sell this guy, if you don't need those, you'll probably be happier with a larger multi-tool, or swiss army knife.

Scissors vs Pliers

This tool is definitely small enough to take around with you or on any backpacking trip. I keep mine in the saddle bag of my bike. All of the tools are of great quality. Keep in mind that the knife is pretty damn small, so heavy duty cutting is kinda tough. This is like the new, way awesome version of a swiss army knife. Very sleek design and nice feel too.

Negative Reviews:

This may work for you. I got it to replace the tiny scissors in my first aid kit and to have some tools available. Folds compact and weighs little but it is unable to cut moleskin. A nogo for me.

Neutral Reviews:

I agree with @markvu2349992 the knife could be easier to get to. The tweezers are sort of useless also. A bit too wimpy. That said, it's better than nothing.
