Leki Carbonlite XL Reviews:

Reviews:

Bought these to replace my old Leki Makalu, which was a model with a cork handle.
The three areas in which I was looking for improvement were:
1) Lighter weight, while still remaining very strong.
2) Increased thermal isolation for the handle (useful in winter)
3) Better grip: more comfortable in the hand, especially when holding just the tip of the handle in the palm of my hand (useful on descent), and the ability to still have a good grip without changing the length of the pole itself.
The engineers at Leki delivered successfully on on all of the above with these new Leki Carbonlite XL ! They even included a camera attachment for the pole.
The only drawback:there is no model with spring-like shock absorption. For winter however, this is definitely not necessary.
Conclusion: If you want THE VERY BEST lightweight poles, you have found them. No need to look further.

It Does Not Get Any Better!!

This is my third pair of Leki Trekking Poles and by far the best.

Leki truly outdid themselves with these babies. The weight is remarkable, it's barely even noticeable that you are using trekking poles...they're that light!

After backpacking/hiking over 1500 miles on these poles this year, they never failed me. Not once did they collapse on me and that's even during/after many pole vaults over creeks and small rivers. Incredibly comfortable in the hands and very easy to collapse when you want them to. These seem to be quite bomb proof.

Yes, they're expensive, but these are the items that the REI 20% coupons are for and worth the money.

Did I mention that I like these poles?

-Cheers!

Phenomenal Trekking Poles

I have used Leki trekking poles for 25 years. I have never been disappointed with their performance, durability, or craftsmanship.

The Carbonlite Aergon XL trekking poles are the zenith of the Leki product line. When you first pick up a pair you will be astonished by their weight. They don't weigh anything. Then you will discover how easy they are to adjust both in length of the poles and length of the wrist straps. The grip is very comfortable and ergonomically oriented for long distance trekking.

Leki's don't collapse. The design of their locking mechanism led the entire industry for decades and remains superior today. Just wipe off the dirt every so often and they will last longer than you will.

The leki LEKI Carbonlite XL Trekking Poles are very light ,I felt very good when hiking. But I met a problem, one pole was broken off when I went downhill.I sent a mail to backcountry.com,I haven't received a reply yet until now.I don't know what to do next.
There is a wart, when it's cold ,the poles is difficult to adjust.
