Lifetime Pole Pad - The Lifetime Basketball pole pad is meant to be used for your basketball system and can be very useful during an intense game. The 3.5 basketball pole pad is made of vinyl and has foam padding, which protects you against impacts with the pole. The material used on the pad is weather-resistant, so it can be used both indoors and outside. The vinyl pole pad has Velcro straps for easy installation and removal. The black basketball pole padding is suitable for poles up to 3.5 in diameter.

Used in my garage
I have center support poles in my garage which help to support the 2nd floor of my house. Unfortunately, these poles are positioned so that my car doors are frequently striking the poles. I bought these pads to protect my car doors. These pole pads cover only half the poles (I have 4" diameter poles), but since we generally park our cars in one direction, it serves the purpose of protecting the doors. The pads are easy to install. I initially thought about giving these pads 4 stars for only covering half the poles, but these are the cheapest pads that I could find on-line. Furthermore, these pads serve their purpose satisfactorily. I have other support poles in the basement that need to be covered for safety (I have 2 small children who have friends who come over and run amok). I will probably be buying pads that cover the poles circumferentially. Another idea is to use two of these pads to cover the entire circumference of the poles (I believe this would be cheaper than buying the pads which cover the circumference of the poles - they're often $100 or more).
Works Great!
We are using this cover in the garage to cover the center support pole to protect the car doors from nicks. It works great and was am excellent value for the money. I checked other websites and they were $30 and up.

Purchased this because my husband kept backing into our basketball goal when pulling out of the garage. Got a great deal too!! Dick's and Amazon were selling it for $40+!! I only paid $16 and change for it!!
