Line Afterbang Skis -

The Line Afterbang returns this season as the toughest most durable true park ski on the market today. The Seven ply maple veneer construction is five times more durable to impact than any sandwich constructed ski on the market. A symmetrical side cut, centered stance, and flex gives the afterbang no idea which way is up or down, regular or switch. The giant butter zone creates a hinge point that will give you more control when you need to butter a box. Fatty Base Edge only adds to the durability of the Afterbang. The base edge is 30% thicker giving your ski a tougher base, and a longer tuning life, just in case some park rat out there decides to tune their jib sticks. Slight Early Rise in the tip and tail make the Afterbang a solid all mountain choice for someone that will do some turning and carving. If you are looking for a super durable park ski that can take a beating day after day, rail after rail, and box after box the Line Afterbang is second to none.

Lining and Layers:

  • Each layer is progressively shorter in length from bottom to top, creating a flex pattern that absorbs shock in the same way leaf-spring suspension takes on bumps
  • Skate Deck uses seven plys of horizontally layered Maple veneer built from the same material used in skateboards

Fabric:

  • Specialized construction replaces a traditional core, topsheet and sidewall with a durable, 7-ply layering similar to a skateboard deck
  • Skate Deck construction combines the use of thick sidewall material and 3-ply maple veneer Skate Deck material on top for strength

Weather and Wind:

  • Early-rise camber profile allows the tip and tail to float above powder, helps you surf over choppy conditions, and makes hooking a tip in deep snow a thing of the past

Sizing:

  • Carbon fiber stringers (Carbon Ollieband) run the full length of the ski and add pop by springing back quickly after you load the ski in a turn or before ollies
  • 5 Cut Sidecut shape blends five different sizes of sidecut radius into a single shape for ultimate turn shape versatility

Features:

  • Symmetrical flex pattern in the tip and tail allows responsive riding forward and backward
  • 88mm waist is wide enough to give you balance on on rails, boxes, and pole jibs and skinny enough so you still feel nimble as a cat
  • Butterzones™
  • Geometry of skis incorporates 5 different turn radii to create effortless turn initiation with solid edge hold and responsive exits
  • Soft flexing Butter Zones™ in the tip and tail feature a thinned-out ski profile, allowing smooth and controlled nose and tail presses
  • Butter Zones close to the boot enhance control and and leverage
  • Symmetric Fivecut™
  • Butter Zone aligns the thinnest point of the ski in front and behind the binding to create a hinge point in the flex for easier presses and butters
  • Responsive freestyle design delivers expert control to skiers focused on going big in the park and on the half-pipe
  • Designed to excel in the park and pipe, these skis also rip in the groomed runs
  • Prestretched, vertically laminated carbon fiber strands load the ski with energy; additional strands have been added to the Afterbangs to enhance freestyle maneuvers
  • Center mount position provides ultimate freestyle performance
  • Increasing the thickness of a standard base and edge adds significant durability and impact resistance, and it lets you tune your skis many times throughout the season
  • Symmetric flex uses the same flex pattern front-to-back so this ski feels just as predictable switch as it does forward
  • Traditional camber underfoot gives you steady edge control and the ability to carve deep turns instead of sliding
  • Base or topsheet color may vary from online photo
  • Maple veneer core offers high resistance to shock and uncompromising strength

Bang the Afterbang for bangers all day.

At its core, the Line Afterbang Ski contains the same material that makes skateboards so bombproof, and that makes this park ski the only one of its kind. Buttery smooth at the tip and tail and an early-rise camber make this a ride that ollies just as easy at it pops, and slides just as easy as it spins. Beat, abuse, and thrash the Afterbang in the park and it'll just look back at you with the its grin-shaped symmetrical sidecut (see what we did there?).

REI (2013)
