The size of the helmet is a bit wider than other models on the market. I wear a 7.5 (in baseball hats) and the M/L was perfect for me. I do agree with the red straps being off color, but for the price it is difficult to argue.
I recently went down on a descent and got banged up pretty good. Initially I thought it was all road rash and bruises, but when I was looking over my equipment later that night I noticed a quarter size dent on the left side of the helmet. I was a little sore in the neck over the next 48 hours, but that was the extent of the injury. At the end of the day, the helmet does the job. I can afford to buy a new one without breaking the bank. I am concussion free because of it, I am obligated to give it 5/5.
Any avid rider will tell you to try on a number of helmets until you find the perfect fit. I was interested in replacing my present helmet with one from the Garneau collection however there are no stores in my area that carry the line. So I took a chance and ordered it on line. I liked the style and look both in the picture and out of the box. The helmet itself is stylish, light, and well vented.
Unfortunately the rest didn't measure up.
The helmet was a little too wide thus causing it to wobble from side to side. I was more than surprised as I ordered a S/M.
I also found the helmet sitting a little higher on my forehead than I would have liked.
Additionally, the red straps would have been a nice contrast if they were red. (They appear to be washed out or faded.) I do a lot of biking both here and in Mexico which means they would be pink in a very short time.
Speaking of the straps they would not rest flat against the side of my face due to the retention system in the back. The retention didn't allow the straps to flow down evenly.
The price of about $25. is great, however dont let price guide you in this area. I understand its important for your helmet look good, however its more important that it fit.
I want to be fair and mention that many of the above mentioned comments are more on the opinion side. Just because the helmet didnt fit me doesnt mean of course it wont fit you. If it does fit you, and you can deal with the off red straps and the less than perfect strap retention system, it will be $25. well spent.

got this on bonktown for 25 dollars and i wish i didnt. design is cool, but in the M/L size, the shell is more like a size XXL and the tightening mechanism just brings it down to a large. this makes it look super wide on me, like a mushroom. and to top it off, the tightening mechanism quit working after about 2 months. throwing it away now. would have given it zero stars but the website makes you give it at least 1 star, so its get 1 star.
My rating is based on appearance only. I bought the black and red on BT and returned it. The helmet is very wide and felt bulky...it looked strange on my head, although the fit was OK. Additionally, the red straps almost look pink...and I can guess tthat they might fade to a pink color in time. I ended up going with a cheaper helmet which was not as wide and bulky.
