Great but - I bought my Lowa Renegades 3 years ago in preparation for a 4 month jaunt around South America. I was very impressed with the shoe's water repellency and the easy on-off ness afforded by the lacing system. In short they were the best walking/traveling shoe I had ever owned but then...a couple of problems. The padding around the heel wore through very quickly, within 6 months, so that eventually the padding was all but disappeared but more significantly they got a puncture in the right heel, this time within 3 months…As soon as I got 'the flat' the shoe literally fell away from me on heel strike and made it a liability on rough terrain by greatly increasing the likelihood of sustaining an inversion injury to the ankle. Having said that I still wear them and love 'em to bits and am seriously thinking of buying another pair.

Best shoes ever!!!!! Great shoe!! I was looking for a great looking and great feeling leather hiking type shoe that could mainly be my everyday shoes but also be great for outdoors and everything in between. These are exactly what I was looking for, super comfortable, great looks, and strong build. I would definitely say this shoe fits true to size, some people may disagree but I would seriously recommend ordering your size, and if they're too small Zappos free return policy and speedy delivery will make it easy to get the next size up and have the new pair in a couple days, I ordered on a Monday morning around 8:30 and had them around 4:00 p.m. the next day, truly overnight delivery!!!

Excellent Hiking and General Purpose Shoe - I bought these as hiking shoes based on a favorable review in Backpacker Magazine. They were a bit expensive but have turned out to be an excellent purchase. I wore them for a week of hiking at Rocky Mountain National Park and on several other hikes and they have been very comfortable, protective, and stable. I haven't actually submerged them, but in rain and sloppy weather my feet have stayed dry. Finally, because they are not as gaudy as many hiking shoes, they have also been great everyday shoes for wearing with jeans or khakis around town. I've worn mine regularly for over a year and plan to get another pair when they wear out.

Love the shoe. This has been an outstanding shoe for my everyday use. Biking, hiking, working out at the gym... you name it. Very comfortable from day one. This is the third set I have owned and cannot overstate their comfort. My previous pair wore out on the inside heel a little earlier than expected but I think it because they were a little too small. This shoe feels 1/2 to 1 full size smaller than normal. Also, for first time customers, Zappos has always been an outstanding and upstanding company to purchase from. They have ALWAYS been there when I have had a problem or needed to return a product. I highly recommend them to my friends. Peace!

DEFINITELY runs smaller than marked! I found this shoe to be a very good looking, well padded shoe that looks just as nice on the trail as it does in a casual sales environment. However, as Zappos advises, this shoe DEFINITELY runs a half size smaller than marked. I take a TRUE size 11 and found this size 11 to be very snug - uncomfortably so. However, with Zappos being the exceptional service company that they are, returns and refunds are never a problem! Thank you Zappos!

Quality hiker that is also attractive - This shoe is a true hiking shoe, with all of the support my flat feet need. It performs well on trails, through wooded areas, and when climbing. It also seems to be legitimately waterproof. The reason I chose this shoe is because it is nice enough and normal enough looking to wear around, without feeling conspicuous about wearing a hiking shoe.

Solid Performer - An excellent shoe that is well-made and comfortable right out of the box. Excellent arch support (similar to the Lowa Tempest Lo). When I ordered this shoe, Zappos advised that this model ran a half size smaller than marked. That wasn't my experience. I ordered up a half size and the shoes were too large. For me, the shoe fits true to size.

Enjoyed Hiking - These shoes did the job I wanted them to do. I hiked trails in Harriman National Park (NY) for 2 hrs without sore feet which is unusual for me. I sprayed them with a waterproof spray so they didn't get dirty and I probably can use them when we get some snow.

Versatile and attractive - These hikers are light enough in weight and flexible enough to be worn comfortably as a casual shoe. After an extensive search, I took the advice of Backpacker magazine and tried these. I have been very happy with these Lowa's in terms of both performance and style.

Mighty fine boot - Just spent a week in Glacier-Waterton with these boots. It's not the lightest boot, but for more than a mile or two, especially with mixed terrain, these were real winners. Great support and nothing rubbed. Excellent grip. Very pleased and worth the $.

This is very good looking shoe, well padded shoe that looks just as nice on the trail as it does in a casual environment. I take a TRUE size 8.5. I have tried at home its ok, but after two weeks tried outside I still feel uncomfortable! It doesn't fit well. I wish I can return this shoe!!!

Shoe runs small in size - Not much room in the toe box, also shoe seems to be at least 1/2 size smaller than indicated. Overall this is a pretty good shoe, but for the price I think there are better buys out there.
